Paris.pro sold for $2,888 in Sep 06. The nice thing about Tokyo.pro is you have a double "o" rhyming ending. Reseller, I think around $200-$300.

You often do! And my quote covers the SAME range that YOU gave on your appraisal and identical to other appraisals in this thread. Get over yourself for pete's sake. _\|/_

You say the same thing on virtually every .pro valuation. "High $XX to low $XXX." You don't justify your appraisal with any stats, make any comment specific to the keyword, it's fit with the extension, sales in other extensions, commercial usefulness and so on. Your favourite phrase is "based on recent sales data". What's that meant to mean to the person asking for the appraisal? If they know the recent sales data, they wouldn't need the appraisal. Also, what's the point of ending every 10 word appraisal IMO? We know it's your opinion. You take delight in leaving low valuations on every .pro appraisal thread and you have every right to do that, but if you are going to knock the wind out of somebody's sails 10 times a day, add some value in the process otherwise people are going to think you are just compulsively mean spirited.

It's not my role to concern myself with what others "think". I give my honest opinion. Sometimes it's right, sometimes it's wrong.

If you don't like my appraisals, I couldn't possibly care less. _\|/_

Cmon Microguy, stop spreading your "dot com is king nonsense" ;)

Everybody knows that "dot com is king".

Is it groundhog day, because I'm having deja vu.

As for Tokyo.pro, based on the auctions going on here at Namepros, you are looking at low $xxx for a reseller. I personally don't get the geo.pro thing as I think it doesn't fit the extension as most here are branding it. Tokyo.pro is just too broad for commercialization, IMO.

As with all second tier extensions, I'd sell sooner than later as the hoopla (prices) tends to die down quickly for most of them without end users buying in as traders flip them back and forth.

I do like the Geo .Pro's a lot as directories of the ultimate business portal. Still, it hinges on the popularity of .pro's. Here is a fine example:

http://oahu.pro/

I'd pay $500 for Chicago.pro if anyone has it. Mostly because I live here. But I have a feeling you wouldn't be able to get it for less than $5,000.

An end user in Tokyo may feel the same way. ;)

Best of luck with it!

.pro doesn't work as well with geos as .info but it still works OK. For example, FrancePro.fr sold for $5,412 in May 07. It's a French professional directory. Tokyo.pro could mean you are a Tokyo pro from a travel perspective or you are pro Tokyo, you can read it both ways.

When I bought France.pro, Italy.pro and Spain.pro, I had in mind recruitment sites for people wanting to work in France, Italy, or Spain, linked travel sites or maybe real estate sites for property in France, Italy, or Spain.

I agree with Ben42, the guy I bought Office.pro from also held London.pro, I thought about bidding for it but figured that with a UK seller and UK buyer it would be too expensive. I would pay more for London.pro than people are valuing Tokyo.pro at. MJS bought Paris.pro for $2,888 so he must have seen something in it, he bought alot of other super premium .pros at the time.

Buying NewYork.pro would be a big saving on what NewYork.info has changed hands for several times. There is nothing sacred about .info, it's still an alternative gTLD to people who don't like or haven't heard of alternative extensions.
