They're maybe interested in this domain name.
But who are they and do you think they really wish to have?

*Other popular extensions are aged domain names and there's a movie called "They".

Wondering your comments.

Thanks.

I have absolutely no idea who they are either, and why they would ever want a domain such as this, at least if it was a Geo domain or service or product related domain I could say that based on that you may end up with some pennies, this has nothing like that :/

$0 I have to say :)

I think it's a valuable name. This kind of name requires branding.

Look at 'very'. It doesn't say much on its own but it has been branded in a stunning way by a leading catalogue shop in the UK.

Keep it; you will definitely have a buyer sooner or later.

wholesale: $XX
retail: $XXX

Comparable SLD sale: they.net dnsaleprice.com/SalePrice.aspx - reportedly sold for $1000 at sedo during 2010 and was also domainnamenews.com/domain-auction/targeted-traffic-vancouver-live-main-auction-results/7755 - reported listed for $1501 min and received no bids at TRAFFIC Vancouver auction June 2010. A UDRP domains.adrforum.com/domains/decisions/1305934.htm - case decided on March 22, 2010 may have tainted the name.

dnjournal.com/ytd-sales-charts.htm - DNJournal 2011 non dot com GTLD top 100 sales include 47 dot nets and 7 dot infos, evidence of TLD pecking order. Empirical sales dnx.com - data indicates that dot info sells at a 59% discount to dot net which would peg they.info at $410.

Jawed makes a good point about the branding potential of hollow names but it's worthwhile to note that very.co.uk built their business on a mainstream TLD. The dot info carries trust and recognition baggage that web surfers and domain investors aren't screaming for. The vague nature of the SLD makes it hard to identify and pitch to end users. Years of renewals are likely before an end user pops out of the woodwork. The relatively high cost of renewal versus low market value of this name builds a strong case to flip and put the money to work in greener pastures.

A quick way to discover wholesale value is to solicit offers on domain forums.

That sounds about right to me.

The .INFO had a good run but it's over now. With the mass dilution coming our way (new TLDs), it's time to abandon these types of extensions and hunker down with .COM. The .INFO is now the same as .MOBI.

Also, make sure you have at least 50 percent of your liquid assets in tangible goods. Convert cash to real items. Make sure you have a gun and ammo. I also recommend lots of canned beans and bottled water. Don't forget to stock up on Vitamin C.

There's a World revolution coming in 2012 and you'll need to be tough to get to the other side.

Yea, as MicroGuy says, the .INFO is the same as .MOBI an the .NET is like .TEL, no?

cyc, keep it. they.net flipped a few times in 2010 for little over 1k.

Lots of nice .info sales lately including play.info for 10k.

It should flip but needs brandability. You will not find anyone lining up to pay a premium for this domain. That said it is certainly not worthless. Although Microguy is correct that the .info's are seemingly dead having a one word generic like this is definitely helpful for resale. Good luck!

this would hit a wall at low xxx. But would get interest all over the $xx range

I would probably go with mid $xx to low $xxx

As people have mentioned, .info isn't a great extension. On the other hand, there are searches for the word 'they' - 27k exact searches according to Google. So I guess there is at least some development potential if you can find a good enough use for it.

My just do a site with random information that 'they' may be looking for ;)

Good luck.
