12k monthly searches isnt great, most other extensions have been regged which could be seen as positive. Its .co, which, im coming to like more and more. Overall i think less than $100 undeveloped.

A blog on sponges (there is more to sponges than just what you wash your car with) and some advertising.. maybe you could make a few dollars a month revenue.

Its not the most exciting domain word or name.

Though to a company that makes sponges for wholesale.. who could tell the value. its a nice one to sit on for a while.

That's a fairly good generic product name but not really an "everyday" type word for everyone. However all majors are taken and it's got some development potential.

low-mid $xxx

the pural holds it back, to me sounds ackward and not the "company" fit the singular would be. Also sponges are sooo low dollar item people wouldnt want to pay shiping cost, just grab them at the grocery store. 2 or three times regfee the best i can surmise at the moment goodluck

I agree with johname: sponges are cheap items and that affects the domain value. In my opinion, mid $xx if not developed; mid $xxx if developed.

Pencils are cheap too but I bet pencils.com is worth a nice junk of change.

I do agree with John that the plural sounds weird. With .co the singular often sounds better and makes more sense. If you sold sponges for a living are you a sponges company or a sponge company?

I'll hold off on an appraisal but a quick look at reserves for the upcoming .co auction at sedo shows many high reserves. Doesn't mean they will sell but folks appear to be willing to hold out because they think .co has real value. I guess we will soon see how the market responds!

But AB has the .co, not the .com.

The example applies to any extension. A products price at the store has nothing to do with the value of the domain.

Pencils are different then sponges. There different logo pencils, art pencils, reasons to buy in bulk like classrooms and office is huge. There a reason people dont want to pay shipping on a sponge . Type songe or sponges on goggle and see how many first page results are actually selling sponges. Type pencils and about all you see is people selling pencils.

Sponges could also be a verb.

As in "My domainer friend spent all his money on sponges.co so now he sponges off of me".

Could be a cool microloan site to keep track of how many rounds your friends owe you.

I think Johname pretty much hit the nail on the head though.
