Hey guys,

Want to hear what do you think about this name?
I hold it for around 1,5 years I guess (wich is not usual for me).
I tried to sell it here for low xxx (cause needed some fast cash - glad nobody took it). Cause I won't try to sell it at forums anymore

Isn't this the close future? Private spaceflights.

If so, what is the problem with the name? Hyphen?

Thanks, Nick

Altho I'm new to this business, I don't think the future is that close yet.
I think this domain would be worth more after several years, when space flights are more common and regular people are able to book such flights. Then again, you may have yourself a secure retirement here hehe. Perhaps space flights are common by that time.

But you may want to hear more experienced people's opinions.

I almost think the same as you :)
The tickets are already cheaper than couple of years ago - http://www.virgingalactic.com/booking/

People have been going on private space flights since the early 2000's.

The hyphen kills it though. Considering that a ticket costs $$$$$, I am sure the two/three companies providing this service can afford the non hyphenated version.

I actually met someone from my country who went on a journey into space in low earth orbit... He was officially the first African in Space... this was in 2002.

Thank you for the feeback too! :)

Yes agree they could afford spaceflight.com - but the non hyphenated version is only one - and there are (and would be) more than one company.

Plus it can't be used as a global portal for spaceflights.

Don't know if the hyphen kills it totally. For example spiceflight dot org is owned probably by a domainer and space-flight dot org is developed by the Space Flight Mechanics Committee.

As for the prices - I remember it was a couple of millions $ couple of years ago (if I'm not mistaken)

It's a pleasure. :tu:

I agree with your point of view. It's 10 years old as well, with the name taken in several other extensions too.

You should develop it with info and experiences of space flights... videos of earth from the view of someone in low earth orbit (which is awesome, i have seen videos)..

Yes, it was, I actually had millions stated in my previous post, thinking it was still millions... And the funny thing was, even though ticket prices were millions the company which provided the flights initially was fully booked and had a long waiting list for flights!! :$:

These are some great suggestions. I would have initially recommended a number of companies that you send sales to that produce or manufacture parts in space travel and research. There are actually more than you think.

You do not necessarily have to target the companies that provide the flight but there is a lot around this industry as well. The research and development components are big too!

I do agree that it will be still quite a few years before space flights take off as normal and I am not sure what the future of domain names holds for you to hang on to this that long.

There are also the non-millionaire end users who are into micro nations and fantasy space travel and colonization. These were very popular in the 80's and 90's and exploded in the early internet days. These guys still exist. You could make a sale but I would only target that route if you are not able to go the first or cannot hang on to it. I would target the authors, game producers and libertarian talking heads of this niche.

Best of luck. This is a really cool domain name.

Close future of commoditization I'm not so sure. Here's what you need for this domain:

Yeah I checked - there are really many companies that are involved in all this stuff, not only direct space flight providers.
