So I just picked up PaperForOrigami.com

In Google keywords tool, says there are 90,000 monthly searches for the phrase 'paper for origami.' Origami is a popular hobby where you fold paper into shapes like cranes.

Was wondering how much this might be worth; thanks in advance!

When i typed paper for origami in google the first result is Toilet paper origami :o. Thin paper that also has strength helps with complicated folds and holding shapes. Lots of ifs on this to me: clicks probally next to nothing, regular people know about folding paper to look like a swan but are they going to use the term origami, are they really going to buy special paper. Are there big companys making this paper and want this name. In other words the name ok, its the industy of folding paper i am unsure of lol I think it needs development to have tangible value. theorigamipapershop.com is an example of what can be done.

There are actually 90 exact searches only for "paper for origami" and this for me would be a death knell...however I do have a friend who does origami and she says it could be a lucrative niche it it didn't take so much time to make something...

The term may have very few searches but it is a good term nonetheless in a nice money spinning niche.

I just think the value is more in the development than the sale to a company as it is very niche. Make a small site if you are able and try to monetise it that way :)

Thanks for the useful comments and input; very much appreciate it.

What I don't get is how to figure out the amount of searches for this keyword phrase. I enter it into Google Adword Keyword tool and get 90,500 Global monthly searches and 40,500 local monthly searches.

I feel like I must be missing something - how does one get how many specific searches are done for a keyword phrase?

Lynx,

In Google Adword Tool under Match Types (left side) click "exact". You will see exactly what Sparhawk is referring to. Hope this helps!

Down the left hand side under the completely useless "all categories" fields you will see three options, "broad" "exact" and "phrase"

Change it to exact and/or keep broad too in order to see what a difference it can make which is often galaxies away from what you had previously :)

When people are searching for "paper for origami" is they are most likely going to be potential purchasers. I think it could do ok if developed. My girl has been coming home from school every night wanting to do origami projects. A lot of schools do projects of this nature. The bad thing is that the paper has a relatively low product cost and therefore your affiliate commissions would be somewhat low. But if you developed it right and used white hat SEO methods, it could rank at the top every time someone searched for "paper for origami." That's a plus.

If it were me, I would try to incorporate it with a few other domains (you might need to purchase) showcasing crafts/school projects. Tie it together with 3-4 sites and you might have a days work. Good luck.
