Hi,

I'd like some opinions on this highly brandable, one word domain name:

m0nkey [.com]

Any idea what sorts of end users this could go to? I'm aware the zero will bring down the value a lot, but it's the only other substitute one could have - it's less credible than monkey, but more credible than m8nkey, m9nkey, m6nkey etc.

These domains are called, leet domains. They have value only in some very specific keywords, like numb3rs.
In this case I don't see any value. I don't know and I don't think someone would brand "m0nkey" :p

...to brand this would have to be visual, not aural. I dunno if anyone would want to take the effort, time and money to do this, but stranger things have happened.

Personally, I wouldn't even think of regging the domain name as the challenge is way too outta left field...

Last year i had names like Dim0nds.com in my available domains list and never registered any of these domains. Those domains were registered few days later though. There are always people registering such domains. The only usage would be paying google for Adwords on their page. But numbers instead of letters is not good for search engines , seo.

Yeah it is a cool name, but I'd need to actively find and convince the buyer of its worth; hard to do...

I'm unsure of this; I have a feeling it's got potential, and I might be able to flip it for lowish xxx making reg fee worthwhile, but then again I could be completely wrong; I feel the same way about one of my other brandables [Q]omics(.)com; definitely a buyer out there, just gotta find them.

Yes, the name is 'cool' but like so many others. Just because it's creative doesn't mean somebody is willing to pay more than regfee to own it.
IMO this domain is not worth more than a few peanuts :D

w0men.com is taken (today! Was there a recent sale of a 0 domain? or a "Post your best 0 as O domain thread?)

So not all is lost!

I prefer m0NK3Y.com which is $8 because it's available - but it's better because leet is more valuable when the translation is done completely. You only got half way to being done.

Funny thing it that mоnkey.com is available? I'm surprised this was not snapped up for $1000 at Sedo recently.

Well, you see, I think personally its brandable enough to get mid xxx for it min.

I mean, at the end of the day, Someone's not going to get monkey.com for less than mid xxxx even low xx,xxx so I think mid xxx for a one word, with one undesirable character isn't unreasonable. Also as the undesirable is appropriate.

Considering how SEO'ing the hell out of the site will easily compensate for the undesirable char, I think pricing it at mid xxx isn't completely outrageous... Worse domains have gone for more after all.

build a fun page and put it on flippa, maybe you will get low XXX. Without site its 0.

It will get no type in traffic and the vast majority of users will type monkey.com in even with an ad campaign!!
