Zero.

An okay name attached to a 'bottom of the barrel' extension. The .PRO ranks right down there with .SC, .TEL, and MOBI. I would HIGHLY recommend that you grace delete this ASAP. IMO.

Anytime you decide to deal with 'BOB' domains, you will need killer keywords to have value. For example, CAR.PRO would have some moderate value.

Good luck and may the force be with you! (:

this name suppose to be a guy setting up kiоsks at the local mall? I guess custom kioks builder is the ideal enduser. This needs to go straight to the end enduser. regfee-mid xx

I disagree..as a niche .pro micro site it would be ok. CPC is $3.28. I own sites like cuban.pro and biking.pro that have been developed this way. People can think what they want about the .pro extension, but developed sites do rank and can be developed just like anything else. The extension is growing with more registrants monthly and there has been decent resales within the extension of 1K+

Anyone is welcome to disagree with me., but this extension is a good one.

Zero value to a reseller.

Very low xx resale value at the moment. You'll need an end user and a good sales pitch to see xxx+.

Your right, I don't expect much on reseller value at this point. But betting that .pro gets more traction over the next few years. Registrants are climbing and premium domains are becoming harder to find within the extension. All signs point upward.

I don't think you can buy a domain and hand register it then expect it to be worth a fortune the next day. I focus on keywords worth developing show commercial potential and could be resold in a few years where there could be a decent return.

I'm certainly open to all arguments not to invest in .pro but the rewards at this point are outweighing any risk from my point of view.

I am making more money from .pro than any other extension. I have sold 15 .pros in the last 18 months for an average sale price of $3,000. To put that into context, not one of the domains on Microguy's for sale page is priced at $3,000 or above;

That's the equivalent of 60% of my investment in the extension for 5% of my .pro portfolio. I sold Insure.pro for $4,700 yesterday on Sedo and picked it up for $275 at Snapnames in April 2010. That's a 17 fold return on my investment in 10 months.

The growth stats for .pro are fantastic. Here are the last 9 monthly growth rates for total .pros registered.

2.9%
2.0%
1.5%
2.2%
1.4%
2.7%
2.5%
2.1%
5.8%

People who knock .pro don't understand branding. For example, I registered Kiosk.pro in October 2007 long before the iPad was launched or this app;

http://www.kioskproapp.com/

There is no particular value in Kiosk.pro to a reseller on NP but to a company, it's short, memorable, and catchy. The .pro adds credibility and trust. Kiosk is a commercial word, people sell from kiosks and there are only going to be more kiosks around in the next 5-10 years retailers become more automated.

Domaining is a volume game, you also need to do something before other people do it to make money. I feel sorry for people like Microguy, they waste their time posting Zero on newbie appraisal threads because they are also rans who follow the crowd years behind the action and it's the only way they can get any attention. My advice is to do something different in domaining, whatever it is, make some money, then you won't feel the need to be mean minded to everybody starting out.

In light of the internetkiosks.net $600 sale, if I was plugging the kiosk gap in my portfolio I'd cherry pick internetkiosks.org for $8, be happy with the favorable salescomp/renewal ratio and call it a day. If I woke up that night with nagging doubts that I should have gone pro, I'd count the org vs pro names on DNJ YTD noncom gtld chart, reread MicroGuy's advice, swear off pro, grace delete internetkiosks.org and be back sawing logs in no time. Good luck!
