I'm reading a lot about how iot is becoming a very hot term and selling is a huge word and applicable everywhere leading to many end users.

I understand that, but I don't see what kind of company would acquire the name. What would the company be 'selling'?

trying to capitalize off of "iot" hype that no longer floats, while using suffix that doesn't make much sense or enhance meaning or value
