I agree, you should contact marketing and promotions, usually if you can get graphic designers of said companies they can relay the message to their marketing handlers.

So I had sent out letters to most of the major rum companies and have recieved ALOT of interest and feedback from multiple companies.

I'm getting nervous, because I don't really want to let it go for too cheap, and have no clue what I should value the name at.

Does anyone have any advice as to what I should appraise and shoot for?

I have already had interest in the name for around $5,000. but that's a number, one marketing rep from one company threw out.

I went through the same thing with a coffee domain I sold. Just keep taking offers, and let the others know the range of highest offer. Let them bid against each other. Also advise them you are thinking of simply putting it up for auction. That usually scares the heck out of them. Good luck!!
