Was .ca drop day, and I used the wrong backorder service and got skunked except for canada360.ca which actually dropped. I've got an idea for it, but would like to hear what others think - and uses if you can think of any.

I was looking at that one too. Nice to see a friend pick up a good domain. Reseller value, based on the drops prices, starts mid-xx up to perhaps 150-200 reseller. Just guesstimating, and you know from answering some of my questions that I'm new, so don't be angry if that's less than what you think it's worth. I'm just taking a guess.
End user I could realistically see 1k-2k.

Well I wasn't thinking of selling - not without an established website to it. Problem is I am already building a new Canadian news website - and that is probably the best imo for this domain as well.

That would probably be a good use for it, I agree. A general travel/tourism to Canada site might be more lucrative though. Why look for an appraisal if you don't want to sell without an established site, btw? Why not build the site and then get them appraised together?

Why get appraisals? In case you get a whole bunch of educated - 'it sucks', 'regfee', 'not worth it' etc. Also, I normally don't buy domains with numbers in them - only have one other - 1800canada.ca. And it can help me generate some other ideas what to do with it. like your idea for travel/tourism.

I'll park it of course and see what happens, but I suspect it will get very little traffic.
