I'm totally lost as to what this name is worth.. Estibot and other sites gives wildly varying numbers, and looking as past sales of comparable names through Moniker auctions, I get even more confused.

All I know is it seems like a decent name, not trademarkable, 14 years old, and I got it to page 1 of Google results with a very minimal/crappy site.

Help?

Tough to put a $ figure on it. Compared to most of the names up for appraisal here it is a gem, but that's not much of a comparison. I'd shop it around to the many restaurants that are named after this vegetable. Best of luck!!

Mid $xx

This is one of the many terms used for Eruca Sativa which is also called rocket, roquette, and rucola. The problem with this domain is that it is not needed and there is no demand for the name. Also, you will find that 3 renewal periods will result in you having a negative financial position in the domain.

I would try to unload this for $50 and use the money to buy a better domain. IMO.

I would pay $500 for it right now, and I suspect others would be willing to pay more.

The assumption here is you can sell it to a restaurant with "arugula" in their name for $xxxx or make a dam good arugula salad/gardening site out of it. $xxx

I am of the same impression but also tend to agree with Microguy. From my research these domains were selling for quite a bit a few years back but have softened.

As stated it is very valuable to a restaurant, food producer, gardener, farmer, and even a blogger. It has been aged well, is a .com and is a nice keyword within a niche. It is indeed way better than a lot on here.

I would investigate all of the different avenues for sale to end users while keeping the option open for fellow domainers. I say high $xxx is an option and $xxxx is not impossible.

Nice name .... (High $$$) A great niche marketing coop name. (got milk).
Note there are NO ads on G[][]G for the results "arugula". Kinda supports
MCs assertion on the lack of a viable market.

Is it pretty much safe to say estibot etc are just useless? They all come up with mid $XXXXX.

"Mostly Useless"

You might get low to mid xx,xxx in a perfect auction with all these growers present, aware of the name and want it very, very badly. http://www.careersinfood.com/index.cfm/fuseaction/showResourcesLinks/CatID/47/produce-companies.htm

These would be your end users.

Right now you have a $500 offer, if you don't know much about domains I'd sell it for that and let him target the end users...he may get low xxxx, or he may just find dead ends.

I've had several low $xxxx unsolicited email offers, so I probably won't be letting it go for $500 :)
