Hello!

I think this is a good match of name and extension and there might be an interesting niche for this. Plasticcards.net sold back in 2012 for $2,801. However, these new extensions are not yet very well accepted and valuable. So you might need some time to find a buyer. Maybe developmente would benefit the name. For the name alone, I would say low to mid $xxx.

Best of luck!

Hello rubencouto,

Thank you very much for the reply!

It seems reasonable. "Plasticcards" is taken in 56 extensions so the keyword(s) itself is popular. But as you say, "common people" are not aware of these extensions yet.

However, I don't find it that very hard to sell new extensions. I've sold 5 new gTLDs in the last 30 day period, but all in the $XXX range (low to high).

Both sides of the dot match. This is important with this type of extension.

$xx to low $xxx to a reseller. Maybe more if you develop or find an end user.

Best,
Paul

Nice matching name plus extension. I am not sure about the value of this one but they will get easier to sell as time goes by.

I am not sure about this geoonlinedomains. I personally think these extensions will lose money over time. I don't they will gain any value.

This is just my opinion. However I would be amazed if the domain's value increased as time ticks by. You have to consider the yearly fee to renew and how long you can 'sit' on the domain before you sell.

Just IMO of course and maybe I am wrong. Interested to hear your thoughts ?

Best,
Paul

Perfect match, valuable domain hack .... should be worth at least high $xxx and likely to sore in value as nTLDs become popular.

Solid name. Easier to appraise when you state the renewal fee :)

Hi doubleU.

The domain is not a domain hack. It is two words that link either side of the dot. This of course does not mean the OP will not be able to sell and could do well. For me ? I am not sure this will happen but wish the OP the best with the domain.

Best,
Paul

It is hard to tell. I personally would not touch .cards but at least its a good match of name and extension.
If it was purchased for registration fee and the renewal fee is low, then its only taking a small gamble anyway. You have to be in it to win it.

I prefer to put all my eggs in one basket and instead of buying a few of each extension, I have only purchased .online but I will buy .web and .shop once available. I think a few gTLD's will be very successful but most will not. I have already placed my bets 8) Good luck!

36 bucks a year...

My average domain name cost (per name and year) is less than half - 17 dollars.

Hi Paul123,

Should it not be considered a domain hack if as you said "It is two words that link either side of the dot" ?

Hi doubleU.

A domain hack is more a name that suggests a word using the extension and 'hacking' into this. For example this is a perfect domain hack

examp.le

Reading others responses about the OPs domain maybe I have undervalued the domain. I still say it will be hard to sell though. Why do I think this ? The only companies that would be interested in the domain will be banks or financial organisations. These are massive corporations with a lot of money. They will not buy anything other than a dot com. They certainly won't buy a 'dot cards' extension IMO.

Of course I could be totally wrong and the domain could sell for high $$$$

I think until anything goes to market it is impossible to guess value so the above comments are just IMO. I hope it goes well for Kohsamui when he decides to sell and would very interested to know the end price.

Best,
Paul

I still think your wrong .... can anyone else tell us whether the domain plastic.cards is a 'domain hack' or not?

DoubleU. I will just add that I am still fairly new to domaining so you could well be right. My understanding of a domain hack though is using the extension as part of the word.

Taken from wikipedia

A domain hack is a domain name that suggests a word, phrase, or name when concatenating two or more adjacent levels of that domain. For example, http://bir.ds/ and http://examp.le/, using the fictitious country-codedomains .ds and .le, suggest the word birds and example respectively.

My interpretation of this definition allows for plastic.cards to be a domain hack. It is a phrase that exists by concatenating the first and second level of the domain.

Who is going to buy it and why?

A business that makes plastic cards could use this domain for their website, simples.
