Planning a Free Arcade Script

Hey all, Well I need a bit of help here.

As far as i'm concerned the commercial arcade script market is now FLOODED to the max! lol

I started creating a pretty decent arcade script a few months ago, and then realised it may not be worth continuing anymore.

The script will be as good as, if not better than whats on the market now, including a video section (So I suppose you could say it's more a media script too). It would also come with 1500 games.

I don't want to spend my time creating something for free that nobody will bother using lol

So my question is this, if I continue creating it, would anyone use it? Would YOU use it?

Its obvious that if better than paid scripts, people will use it. Make sure you make it easy to integrate Adsense/YPN. People love that. :p

The template system will be all html, so it'll be nice and easy to create your own designs, or get ones custom made.

The only downside is that the default design won't be awesome, as its designed by me lol. Unless I can get one donated after its made :P

I will probably use it! A lot of scripts are out there but none free (and good).

You might actually be better off charging a small fee for it. People a lot of times don't like to use free scripts, mostly because there site is "looked down upon" if they do. It's kinda like forum skins. People don't like to use free ones because everyone else uses them and they make you look cheap.

I would certainly use it, as I have several arcade domains that would go a lot better with an arcade on them instead of just a parking page...

I would definitely be interested in using your script if you were to complete and release it. Sounds like an excellent package.

I would certanily use it. What you could do is set up your own arcade site and then make sure that all of the free scripts have a way of linking to yours if this is possible.

If it includes the possibility of putting in videos, I would use it.

An essential thing for me would be a video/game search.
