Lots of potential here. Could be a Forex site. Forex keywords can yield up to $20 per click. Digital products for Forex can produce individual commissions of $80 or more. This site also has development possibilities in another area.

I remember PIPS and PIPS Inc. Consider this information:

PIPS is a pyramid scheme, or well, WAS a pyramid scheme. This scheme was one of the largest in recent years. People were refinancing their homes, selling their cars, cashing in the kids' college funds, etc... The point is, people got excited, very excited, and then discovered their life changing mistake.

Pipsters was the name of the members. If you were involved in PIPS, you were a Pipster. Pipsters.com used to be a place for "pipsters" to look up information about PIPS. So, know that this name/domain definately has history.

I know you are wanting this to be a Forex site, and I very much so hope that that is what you turn it into. I like the term "pipster". It's catchy. And for those who are serious about Forex, it's brandable.

One pip is the smallest measure of Price move used in forex trading. For instance, if the currency pair EUR/USD is currently trading at 1.3000 and then the exchange rate changes to 1.3010, the pair did a 10 pips (smallest units) move. The pip is the smallest measure regardless of the fractional representation of the currency exchange rate. Thus, 1.3000 to 1.3010 is the same move in pips terms as 110.00 to 110.10. Pip is an acronym which stands for Percentage in Point(pip).

I'll appraise this domain at $250 for its definition and brandability. I like the word Pipsters. Develop this domain and you have a winner.

Good luck!

This site could be a resource related to the PIPS debacle. Maybe shed some light on that history, or reach out to people whose financial situations had been devastated by it. Refinance? Credit counseling? Could be potential there.

What I originally had in mind, having never heard of the scam, was a personalized Forex site. “Pipsters” in my mind represented a friendly term for fellow Forex investors, and pipsters.com to me had the potential to be a Forex resource for a fresh community.

Forex digital information products are pretty expensive. They can sell for hundreds of dollars. "Rocket Trader" sells for $187 at Clickbank.com, and provides an $80 commission for affiliates. A decent Forex site with some nice traffic could provide a respectable flow of revenue. An average of one $80 affiliate sale a day would provide $29,200 a year.

According to the "Keyword Selector Tool" at Overture, there were 122,371 searches for "forex" in January of 2007. http://inventory.overture.com/d/searchinventory/suggestion/

According to Google's keyword tool, "forex capital markets" pays $21.04 per click. Many other forex terms pay between $10 and $20 as well. "Forex pips" pays $6.26.

This site could easily be branded as a Forex site, and if done well could pull in a good amount of cash, both from ads and affiliate sales. I'm sure someone could come up with further methods to monetize this site.
