They know their market. Do you think google would call their image gen nano banana if their audience wasn't mostly the younger generation? Do you see the names of these LLM's?

I think for the audience that is likely to want these glasses, the name is great. In fact, I can put up an argument that the stranger more different the name is, the better for that market.

If their product fails, it won't be because of the name.

Agreed, but "pickle" has a lot of negative baggage compared to "apple."

There are large amounts of people who find pickles disgusting, but very few who haven't found at least one apple that they like.

Maybe the founders love pickles.
