PhpBB MySQL Hangover

Ive googled myself into a vegetable trying to find help:

I have a phbBB forum installed on my site. Im trying to create a simple signup/register page (and subsequent "member only" pages) that uses or syncs with the MySQL database used by phpBB.

Can anybody point me in the right direction. I'm prepared to pay somebody if they can give the script for this...

There is information on phpbb.com about this, I can't remember where.
There is also a php class for it:
