Has anyone ever noticed the amount of times phpbb say "we have check it out and it is nothing to do with the software" then a day or two later "New phpbb version released!".

It is pretty obvious they do it all the time...

Evereyone can be wrong, but I think it's about time phpBB make a new version a they have version X.47587438 now and there are so many small errors I think they should just recode everything and rlease X.0 :)

No, they said it would probably be released late this year, or next year.

Do you beleive everything people say?

They say on many occasions problems is not in there coding and then days later release a load of patches...i don't trust phpbb because they are slow, ignorant and they really dont pick their staff wisely.

Well I don't think you can ask for perfection from an open source script. The software is free meaning they make little to no profit, which therefore means a lot of the staff are volunteers. If you have such an issue with phpBB, then shell out $160 for vBulletin, where you can have paid staff members.

Who said i use phpbb?

You really think im going to use phpbb when i have these views on it?

And i would rather not get vbulletin when there are alternative free boards which are much better than phpbb.

No, I wasn't talking to you specifically, but rather to people who complain about how bad phpBB is, but then when asked why they don't get vBulletin, they respond, I don't want to pay $160.

I have nothing against phpBB if it's on a forum of something I support or wnana discuss, but if I find a forum using IPB or vB and ha sthe same basic topic I choose that because that's what I perrefer. :)

I don't chose a forum i post on for its software thats rediculus, i chose a forum to post on based on the people and the activity.

What you say basicly means you would post on a forum with 1 member because its VB rather than a board with 1k members because its PHPBB.

I use and ONLY USE vB now. I also enjoy using other peoples forums such as NP that run vB.

However, IB does have a very fresh and clean look. Cant fault their skin at all - just their rude staff!
