Phpbb/Ipb skinning

Can anyone provide me with a tutorial or site that tells how to creates phpbb/ipb skins (like everything, the images, the coding if any)?

I havn't used phpBB or IPB before (Well I did use phpBB but that was before skinning stuff started) so don't they use CSS code?

you upload them... so i guess its not CSS? i think invision free boards are CSS though, but i dont want to make skins for those.

Your best bet would be to do a Google search for skinning tutorials.

Hey yeah for IPB I would use http://www.invisionskins.com they got lists of the images, and downloads for images also links to cool sites like Invision Hacks

I think its a good site to help you with image names etc

Uses css. I dont know the exact variables. If you get the default css and edit it in frontpage, you can click the style button. This makes it VERY easy to edit. I even figured it out!! lol

how does css make different phpbb styles? i dont want just the colors changed, i want every single image changed and altar all the links and everything.

CSS contains the location and filename of images. You can change these. I reccommend finding a skin with images for every part of the skin. When you edit it, it's easier to take an image out than put one in!
