I personally think it's a great name too but got some mixed reactions because of the TLD. Me thinks it's only a matter of time before the best names will be valued the highest...no matter which TLD. For example, it's reasonable to think that HTML.Codes in the future will have a good chance at the top of Google when searching for html codes since all keywords are part of the domain name.

HTMLCodes.com will always be there too. When talking SEO it's a whole different ballgame IMO

Highly doubt .COM will ever be removed from the SERPS or penalized for being a .COM

Not removed or penalized. Just treated the same way. For example, html.codes/com would be equal to htmlcodes.com. html.codes would in that case be slightly better than htmlcodes.com. I find it natural but it will take some time before we're there.

I would say, forget SERPS and comparing it with .com or other TLDs. It is really a nice name worth developing. So just focus on developing a good content rather than thinking about how it will be ranked in search engines Anything good will definitely reach its targeted people, even though it might take some time in the start. All the best!

I don't think a freelancer would pay much for this domain, maybe low $$$ just for the novelty and provided the renewal fee is not too expensive.

I think it is amazing name
.guru sells well when connected with something short and meaningful, which is the case here.

My personal feeling would be around 2,5 k at 2017 (end user), and can be much more in future. Definitely keeper, so do not sell low.
