Looking for cost estimates on the following project. Design is already created, looking for database/php work.
A database system allowing users to submit travel articles that automatically appear (if specific rules followed), rate articles, and tag them for easier searching. Editors can remove, edit, move articles.
Specifics:
User would select the destination/attraction the article is about. This could be a country, city, amusement park, nature preserve, etc. They would then paste the article into the form. The article would appear, as long as rules are followed, immediately on the appropriate page (if article is submitted for "Australia" then it would appear under the directory "Australia"). Tags may be selected by writers to help identify to readers what info is included the article is about before they click into it (tags would include: hotel, restaurant, attraction, shops, guides)
Users can vote for articles they like, these articles get moved up in ranking in a 'favorite' directory under that destination (i.e. Australia/Favorites -- there should be an overall favorites directory as well).
If the database does not have the destination/attraction listed for a user to select, they can suggest one. If this feature is used, the article is held in moderation. The editor would log into the system, and accept/edit/deny (may edit destination name to an existing on, or correct spelling, etc.). When accepted, the destination is auto-added to the database so future writers can select it.
There should be a 'most recent' articles section.
A search feature will be necessary.
It should be possible to add features and sections in the future (i.e. Australia/Hotels or index/Insurance).
Thanks,
Dan
