Hi NamePros members,
I'd like to ask for your opinion on one of my domains.

MarchGoods.com

I believe it has good branding potential and could work well for an e-commerce business, consumer products company, or lifestyle brand.

If you were selling this domain in today's market:
  • What price would you ask?
  • What would be your expected wholesale and retail value?
  • Would you hold it long-term or sell it quickly?
I'd really appreciate your honest opinions and the reasons behind your valuation.
Thank you!

Thank you for pointing that out. I apologize if my reply created that impression. I wasn't referring to you or suggesting that you agreed with that valuation. I was referring to discussions I had with other investors in different domain communities. I'll clarify my wording to avoid any misunderstanding.
You need to change the format of the reply.

Thanks for letting me know. I'm still new to NamePros, so I'm not familiar with the reply formatting yet. I'll figure out how to correct it. I appreciate your patience.

Oh, I'm sorry for the misunderstanding. When I mentioned "domain communities," I wasn't referring to public forum threads like this one. I was referring to several private groups and conversations with friends who are also domain investors, where we regularly exchange opinions and ideas.

The forum thread you shared is unrelated to what I meant. I sincerely apologize for the confusion. I'm still new to NamePros, having joined only a few days ago, and I'll be more careful with my wording in the future. Thank you for pointing it out.

I understand that branding is subjective, and not everyone will see the same potential. However, I believe Faurda has a distinctive identity and a strong fit for the fintech space. That's the vision I'm presenting to potential end users and investors.
You have a .0001% chance of finding an end user for that price (or any).

The odds significantly decrease when it comes to investors.

I'm afraid you don't understand. You presented it as if @URL Stream had written it ("misquoting").

You can still fix that by Editing your post.

It's been updated now. I hope it's correct. I sincerely apologize for the misunderstanding. I'm new to this forum, so I'm still learning how everything works. Thank you for your patience.

Thank you for your feedback. Perhaps I wasn't clear enough in my previous post, and I apologize for that. My goal is not to sell this domain to domain investors. My strategy is to target the right end user, specifically a fintech startup or company that can build its brand around the name. I understand that this approach may take a long time, but I'm willing to be patient and wait for the right buyer.
If you don't mind me asking, what do you think would be a fair price if I were targeting domain investors instead? I'd genuinely appreciate hearing your perspective, as I'm still learning from more experienced members here.

I have a premium domain, sir: faurda.com. I put a lot of thought into choosing this name, and I believe it carries a strong philosophy. My vision is to position it as a fintech brand.

I'm confident enough to hold onto it for as long as it takes until it sells for $15,888.

What do you think, sir? I'd really appreciate your honest opinion and any advice you can share.

The march domain I'd set a $150 bin on afternic and wait. The brandable domain is worth reg. fee in my opinion.

Wow, that's actually higher than I expected. Based on feedback from various investors, I had valued MarchGoods.com at around $108. Thank you for sharing your opinion.

Yeah but you have the reg. fee of the domain plus all the fees afternic charges but I guess if you clear $70 or $80 you have done well.

Thank you for your advice. That's a fair point. I'll definitely keep the renewal costs and marketplace fees in mind. I really appreciate you sharing your experience. And, of course, it would be even better if you decided to buy it yourself! 😄

I would never reg either name, they're not good enough.

MarchGoods isn't any better than FebruaryGoods which is available.

Faurda isn't any better than Faurad, Laurda, Taurda, Fearda, Feerda, Faurds, Faurdy, Faurma, and Faudd which are all available.

With that said I hope you sell the names for a good amount of money.

Thank you for the brutally honest critique! That kind of sharp feedback is exactly what I came to this forum for. I completely understand your point of view, but I'd just like to humbly share my thought process on why I saw potential in these two names:
  1. MarchGoods.com: I respectfully disagree with the 'FebruaryGoods' comparison. To me, 'March' has a much stronger brandable appeal. Beyond just being a month, 'March' implies action, movement, and progress (like 'marching forward'). Phonetically, it's also much shorter, punchier, and has a better flow for a brand than 'February'.
  2. Faurda.com: This is strictly a brandable play. I realize there are many similar variations (like Faurad, Laurda, etc.) still available to register. However, in the branding world, the availability of similar-sounding words doesn't necessarily diminish a name's value. If a startup or an app feels the specific phonetics and vibe of 'Faurda' perfectly match the identity they want to build, the fact that 'Feerda' or 'Taurda' are available won't really matter to them.
I truly appreciate you taking the time to share a veteran domainer's perspective. It's a great learning experience for me. I'll hold onto these and hope they eventually find the right end-user. Thanks again for the good wishes!"

It's only good if the buyer has all 12 names:
Januarygoods
Februarygoods
Marchgoods
Aprilgoods
....
Decembergoods

No, sir. What I meant by "discussion" was a small group of fellow beginner domain investors. I created that account around the same time I joined NamePros. I have never copied or quoted anything from there. The forum you mentioned is also a place where I ask questions, just like this forum.

But jokes aside, I think there is a distinct linguistic difference here. 'March' isn't just a month on the calendar; it's an action verb. You can 'march' forward, but you can't 'january' or 'august' forward.

When building a web project or a brand, founders don't care about collecting a complete set of calendar months. If their first-choice domain is taken, they pivot to an alternative that has the right dynamic vibe and fits their identity. The active energy of the word 'March' is exactly what I think makes 'MarchGoods' stand out from the rest of the calendar.

Thanks for chiming in though, it's always good to hear different angles!
