i have noticed one thing that there are some hundred regular users with lo5s of $$s who create the trends.

Let me tell me what was going on in NamePros.com for last few weeks.

LLLL.com --> There was no value few weeks before. That hundred are so people started encouraging people to register as many LLLL.com as possible so that all LLLL.com registered which could potentially increase the value of all LLLL.com. I also registered one LLLL.com.

LVLV.com --> They realized that it is not possible for them to register all LLLL.com so they said LLLL.com has some value but actual value is of LVLV.com. All LVLV.com registered!!!

L-L-L.com --> Someone came up and saying, what about L-L-L.com. Limited combination so most of the L-L-L.com gone.

N-N-N.com --> What is remaining now, yes N-N-N.com. Someone came up saying, hey some 600+ N-N-N.com still not registered. All domains registered in 12 hrs.


What do you think, does it effect the value of domains or you people are just wasting their money???

That's just hype. Everyone knows the REAL value is in .TV domains.

Seriously, I've never understood the idea of collecting a large quantity of meaningless, but short domain names. I understand that to a point, you are anticipating either an existing company to make use of the domain as an acronym, or even better, for a company to base their name on a short domain that they acquire from a domainer. It's almost like collecting baseball cards, looking for that one with a pice of Barry Bonds shirt on it. Yet, it seems wasteful, to a degree, of your resources, since so many keyword based domains are out there.

I would think they are simply trying to broadcast an opportunity, though, rather than trick anyone into investing in the domains. In their eyes - and maybe they are right - it is an opportunity whse door is closing.

I'll stick to product domains, thank you.
