Hello, I recently used my debit card to become verified by Paypal (not verified seller) just to be able to send and receive money.

The first time I tried to make the "verification" I had no money into my debit card and Paypal didn't verify me. It displayed a page saying that my debit card is not accepted and stuff like that.

The second time I tried, I had money into the debit card and I finally got verified. Why is that hapenned? Does Paypal check if I have money into my card?

Moreover, right now I have a limit of $100 and Paypal needs to withdraw $2 from my debit card to be able to rise that ammount.

Could you please explain? Thank you.

The only way any vendor can verify your card/address is by trying to get an authorization for some amount. Most vendors use $1 to verify unless they anticipate large charges.

Note that it's just an authorization for a charge, they don't actually put the charge through. Your credit card company will hold the fees for 10 days and then release the amount back to your available funds.

If you don't have any money in your account, the $1 authorization will fail. Hence what you experienced.

I don't quite follow your $100 problem. But PayPal can let you do an instant widthdrawal/transfer from your card/bank account to pay for something online if you don't have enough paypal funds.

From what I have understood Paypal checks your credit card twice.
The first time it checks it without make any charges and the second time it checks it by withdrawing arround $2. Right?

Certainly when they withdrew the tiny amount from my bank account, they credit it back to you - costs nothing at all. Just a way of verfying the link between PayPal and your bank is all up and running!
