PayPal - Getting a Refund

I recently paid for an item on eBay, but it turned out that the auction I won wasn't what I expected it to be. AFTER I paid for the item, the seller told me their PayPal account had just been locked. So they allowed me to back out of the auction.

I've contacted PayPal twice, but they say it's impossible to get my money back without the seller getting his account unlocked. He isn't willing to go through the hassle of unlocking it. Is there something I can do to get PayPal to give me the refund without the seller getting involved?

I know others have had issues with PayPal. This is the first time I've experienced one myself.

i dont really think there is anything u can do besides bribing him to get his account bak, say il give u $x amount of money once u refund my payment

Here is situation. Either you will never get a refund like me OR if the guy is legit you will get a refund in perhaps 30 to 80 Days depending on length of Account Locking.

Keep in mind PP rarely unlocks accounts, since generally they have some "presumed" serious reason for locking them in the first place.

Don't use PayPal.
Aside from that, you're SOL unless the seller is kind enough to give you your money back anyway (doubtful) or you could request the item be sent anyway.
Sue him? Nah, unless you were buying a nice car or something.

Um, can't you chargeback? "Item not recieved"? Or did PayPal say no?
