Has anyone/does anyone partner up with someone so where one person does the "domaining" and another does the "website development"?

Only reason I ask is because I believe I have some valuable domains but they we would be 100x (just throwing multiplier out there) during life of domain if domain is sold and held and collect revenues.

If anyone has done this, has it been something other than freelance work for one site? Like the website developer would get a split of the revenue until both agreed to sale. I know there's some complexities in decision making when you have more than one person at the helm.

I really would like to get a partner who can develop a good revenue generation content site and in return they get % of revenue. Believe it would help keep them involved and ensuring content and seo relevant.

Thoughts? Have I had one too many beers?

This has been discussed many times. Simply put, it doesn't work.
For instance, if the revenue is peanuts , you haven't lost anything but the developer has wasted several hours.

I agree.
Somebody who is good at webdesign and SEO actually doesn't a great domain. It can help but why would the developer take a chance on assets he doesn't own and control. The developer doesn't need you.
If you are serious about developing your domains you'll have to hire someone and pay him/her regardless of future success.

That is fine. I have hired for this in the past. Just wasn't sure if anyone had any success with such type of partnerships. Seems as if there have been little to no success in this regards.

Guess it wouldn't hurt for people to do this as long as everyone is part of the decision making process form beginning to end.

I think finding a good developer is the hardest part of the problem. But as @Kate said the model doesn't work with the developer taking all the risk.

I would like better prices for developing :( Its not hard to throw a few wordpress plugins a site and have it running. why do they charge so much? argghhh

This won't work. Maybe if you hold high end .com's you would find willing developers good enough, but still need to work out written agreements.

Exactly. In which case, you'd definitely prefer to pay them instead :)

Basically you believe the domain has good resale value already. You also think investing more in it would either increase resale value, or create income, or both. So you calculate or guess what the return on the investment would be and decide if it is worth investing.

Getting someone else to do it speculatively with no pay means you can afford to do this with a lot of domains so it sounds good from your point of view, but the developer is investing their money (in the form of time) in something very uncertain that they do not control... not attractive, sounds like outsourcing the risk.

Try Fiverr? Pushing buttons to get plugins in place is like using glue to add stuff where some more tools and skill may be needed for a more permanent or reliable result.

Yeah definitely and before one knows it, it turns into a business that will eat ones time to keep it floating. It's not like in the old days, where you could put up some trashy site and make lots of $.

Everybody can put up a site on wordpress or something. But original, quality content does not come for free.
