Hi to all..
i'm acquiring some name from the godaddy.com auction section.
godaddy give us the traffic stats. i have seen that the traffic is quite accurate, does anybody has different experience??

when i try to evalutate where the traffic is coming from i write the name in some checker site. too much time i verify that checker site doesn't find any backlink and the name is really worst (3 hypens or 3 words or more than 15char).
i want to know if i could buy the name with no fear or could it be that godaddy detect a big quantity of bot or spider traffic that could i consider as rubbish??
because if then i want to park the name i want to earn some money.. not having domain with 0 revenues for the whole year (supposing that the domain is correctly optimized)

if godaddy's traffic stats were accurate, then wouldn't everyone be running to gd's auctions to snag some?

so do you believe that the traffic stats aren't so accurate??
i have bought some domains from their and i had more or less (around 10%) the traffic shown.
am I a lucky man in those case?

The traffic figures are meaningless, we don't even know what we are taking about, monthly UV or something else ?

yeah i think it's the montly traffic and i had a minus of 10% bacause the parking services counts only the UV..
coud probably be??

Talked to Godaddy tech, who'd worked there for 3 years (he said) According to him, their traffic stats are counts from the domain's creation date, not yearly, not monthly, but a total count of total visits since the domain was registered. I'll still take their stats with a grain of salt, however.

How would GoDaddy acquire accurate (10% give or take) traffic data on a domain that isn't parked at GoDaddy?
