I own Palm Oil (.) com for a few years (Monthly search volume: 31,400)

Palm oil is the most selling type of cooking oil in the world. Economies of countries such as Malaysia & Indonesia depend on export of this oil as a major cash crop.

The most widely produced tropical oil, also used to make biofuel. In 2016, the global production of palm oil was estimated at 62.6 million tonnes, 2.7 million tonnes more than in 2015. The palm oil production value was estimated at $US39.3 billion in 2016, an increase of $US2.4 billion (or +7%) against the production figure recorded in the previous year. Between 1962 and 1982 global exports of palm oil increased from around half a million to 2.4 million tonnes annually and in 2008 world production of palm oil and palm kernel oil amounted to 48 million tonnes. According to FAO forecasts by 2020 the global demand for palm oil will double, and triple by 2050.

I had been running a business through this for a few years, trading palm oil & selling it to African countries. The website is still up if you wish to see (though not updated in a while). The website ranks quite high in SERP & can do much better with some improvements. Very strong organic ranking is possible with few weeks of work. Any big company can easily command dominance/leadership in this industry by acquiring this domain. A few sponsorships at related conferences (MPOC, Palmex etc) & you can easily be on top of mind of b2b buyers.

However I believe it is time to move on & involve myself completely in some thing much closer to my heart.

At what value would you appraise this domain?
Will appreciate all & any constructive feedback as I am not an expert in domaining & will appreciate your guidance before I setup a landing page instead of the website.

I would look for a business broker and talk to them. Especially if you own your production facility in Malaysia, I don't think just listing on an online platform would be your best option.

Thank you draco. Our small production facility in Malaysia was closed long time back in 2017 due to other business commitments. We had been sourcing from local suppliers/factories after closure of our facility.

I am currently residing in Pakistan & not currently aware of business brokers that are capable of handling such transactions.

Sell the website and connect the buyer with your supply sources and all the other tribal business info you can provide them. You don't necessarily have to sell a physical business. Even if it's just an online business, if the business plan is laid out and the costs/profits are documented, this tribal info is good enough to make it worth much more than as if you sold just the domain.

If you can get a complete business deal, it would further add up in value.

I agree this is a 5 figure + .com. Palm oil is very big business. Go right to the top of the tree and get a few interested parties to fight it out. It would probably be worth getting somebody on the payroll with connections to facilitate this. I would sell the name separately not as the business. Good luck.
