I'm curious about something.

At DNF, the same domain is appraised between $2,500 and xx,xxx.

Why is there such a difference. I really wish people would give reasons for their appraisal. For someone to say

"high $xxx"

And that's it, makes it hard to know the actual value of the domain. Here is how I would evaluate the name..

This domain is very direct and has a specific audiance. When you see the name you know exaclty what is happening at this website.

The name is listed on all of the major search engines and is #1 on google for the term talk3d and talk3d.com and has 3,700,000 results for the term talk 3d.

The development possibilities seem very good with a wide reaching audiance.
I would evaluate this domain as follows.
With substantial traffic approx $18,000
Without trafic $8-$12,000


And that, in my opinion, is an appraisal people can really use to make decisions with. I'm not trying to put people down. I have made very standard appraisals in the past, but I know see that if someone is serious about a domain, they need as much information from their peers as possible. Many of you are domain professionals and your opinions help to shape the outcome of newbie transactions.
So please think about this the next time you appraise a domain.

This is one of the best domains I've seen in a while! It's short and sweet! Anyways there are lots of ways you could develop this site and it has great keywords. I don't see anything wrong with this domain. I'm appraising it around $5000 at least.

The main reason you get such varying appraisals between here and DNF is that this is somewhat a kindergarten in relation to some of the other forums. A very young and inexperienced audience in general.(Still a few old hands knocking around :blink: )

That said, they are generally very enthusiastic but lacking in knowledge and most appraisers fail to do even simple research before tackling a name that they are unfamiliar with and will tend to follow the previous appraisal (s) see this thread . Often to the point of frustration!

Nevertheless a great training ground for the newbies in particular.

I can see that people don't read all of the other posts. My "above" rant about this very thing seems to have gone un-noticed. Yet, still, I am getting some good responses. The funny thing is, I once had this name up for sale for 600NP$ and no one grabbed it. I'm very happy about that..
