Hello, this really had a lot of potential in making money for me, but I've decided to sell this so I can get money for other projects as for now, I do not have the time and energy to go about promoting this site.
OurSubstance is a rewards programme which allows users to gain a free domain name registration for every 650 points earned. Points can be earned by completing simple offers such as submitting a genuine quote for a website design, or signing up at a website.
The site is designed to be connected to Commission Junction's affiliate network. Maintenance is simple, and consists of:
1. Occasionally looking for affiliates to be added to the programme. Affiliates are added to a table in the database - the things you need to specify is the name of the affiliate, a description for the affiliate, the html code of the ad, and the points users gain by completing that specific offer.
2. Parsing a Commission Junction's reports using the custom-build CSV parser.
Domain names can be redeemed instantly through the control panel, and you can edit name servers, etc, straight from our control panel as well. Domain names are registered through the RegisterFly reseller programme (www.registerfly.com/reseller/) API at a discounted reseller rate of $6.50 per domain.
Currently, the amount of points earned for each offer completed is worth about half of what CJ advertisers are paying me, i.e., for every free domain given away, you are earning a domain name registration's worth of money.
Right now, there traffic is low, as I have not promoted it much. But I'm sure you can imagine the potential of the site. I agree, the domain name isn't all that great, but the script uses a 'config' file where you can set the root URL and website name of the site, so changing of domain names should not be a problem.
The script itself cost me $100 to have developed, but I've just got a great idea for a new project, so I'll start offers from as low as $50 (I may choose not to sell that low).
