OSCommerce - questions

Well, I downloaded the linux version of OSCommerce... but how am I supposed to edit everything on XP? None of the files open, because they are made for linux, I think. The file is a .tar.gz.

Also, I have a question about a feature on OSCommerce. Is there a feature that enables you to have "bonuses" or "special offers" with a purchase? Let's say I want to offer my customers a free product if they buy three products. Is that possible? And maybe add an option saying: Add this product for 99 cents? Or something like that. Is that possible?

you can open tha " linux " package with WinRar www.rarlabs.com for downloads.

further the 2nd one i am not sure, but if you install oscommerce and try to find it out in the admincp, i am sure you will find mods on the official site that might have something what you need.

EDIT: Well, I put the catalog folder in my root on the server, I open http://[your site]/catalog/install in my browser, and i get the following message:

FATAL ERROR: register_globals is disabled in php.ini, please enable it!

Now what do I do?
