ok I have mentioned this before, but here is more info/details about it.

Hey,
I'm thinking of starting a site that has a bunch of free domain tools, and was wondering if you can think of anything to add to my list of stuff.
So far what I have is:
everything on www.dnsstuff.com
a whoise similar to www.whois.cs (including all their features)
A mass domain checker
A link popularity checker like http://www.marketleap.com/publinkpop/default.htm
A clone of rankwhere.com - basically the main script they got running there
Maybe some sort of expiring soon domains feature
Also, a feature that will email you when a domain in your list of "watch these domains" when they're within x days of expiration etc.

This site is going to be pretty powerful IMO, i'm currently getting access to all the .net and .com tlds, basically a list of every domain registered with those extensions. Anyone know where I can get the zone file access for .us .org and/or other well known tlds?
The site is going to have a full dedicated server, and probally more once the site grows that will frequently check everything about every domain, from alexa ranking/google page rank, to whois information, to expiration date, to last owner, company that's hosting it, and will also even have a reverse ip feature.

hopefully I can finish the site within a month, gota put all my php knowledge to the test, because this is most likely the biggest project I've taken on yet

Thats what I've been able to come up with so far, you got any ideas as to other features I could add?
Also, what do you think about the site, if I get it launched? Sound good/would be frequently used?
And, got any ideas as to how I could make money off of this other than advertising/"special" account upgrades?

require free registration - especially for anything server-intensive (mass domain check, etc.); do some co-registration offers for $$$

Am guessing you program, so if you want to make additional money other than through special accounts/adverts you may want to consider later on if you can offer poeple the ability to query your database like whois.sc do, you would make the money from the contracts for that..

Plug your own domain registration tool in to the database so that any domains people want they can register through you if they choose...

Seems like a large project and will require alot of computer resources... keep it clean, fast, simple like google and you might just have a winner.. whois.sc have loads of cool stuff along with clean simple interface and they get thousands of uniques per day..

Yea, I still gota figure out best way to make it FAST, because it's going to kill mysql lol

I have a suggestion for your new site.

Make sure you have a catchy DOMAIN name for it...LOL

Speaking of that I have been able to acquire a few in the past 24 hours. Interested in any????????

Minimum prices have been set at 10,000.00 USD each LOL HAHA

please be more clear? What feature is going to use many whois lookups?
Also, I am going to have a database with every domain that's registered, and have server(s) setup to update/get information needed for each domain
