I want your guy's opinion on .cc domains.

I found a nice 3 letter .cc domain, and i'm woundering if it would be wise or not to purchase it. I plan on making a website that will recieve 10,000+ unique visitors a day, but will a .cc domain lose some visitors? If i don't plan on using the domain, would I atleast be able to sell it and get my money back?

what are the pros and cons in owning a .cc domain?

please help.

thanks.

there are ALOT of 3 letter .cc still not registered. I don't see resellers buying them much. Only point of having one really is for company branding imo. Not to mention too pricey.

I'd say you could probably sell the domain at a profit, as long as the three letters are reasonable, but I wouldn't recommend it as a site destination over, say, a three letter .us... Its just hard for people to remember and they may end up at the .com counterpart.

Sorry AdamZ,... I seldom give such opinion but... ".cc" is ONLY engraved and tatooed at the heart of 'Great Domains'... but not on the hearts of domainers.... (Can you see how many .CCs are discussed, sold or appraised at NP..???) Any how, you decision is you decision, Welcome & Goodluck....

$15.10 isn't that much.

There are still some 2 Char .cc's available

I would not use a .cc domain on a site that is popular. It just seem out of place for me.

PS. I would use .ws rather than .cc

If buying for resale, forget it. You might make $20 if you are lucky and sell the first year. If buying for personal development, I'd make two recommendations.

1. Content is king. If the content is there, it really doesn't matter to the search engines what the TLD is.

2. That TLD will be trumped by com/net/org/info/biz/us/uk/ca/au and maybe even ws in the english language. If you can still draw customers and use of the same name on those other TLD's (and some type-in loss) won't effect your efforts too much, go for it.

I dumped the last of my .cc names. Not a good investment
