On the occassion of JK Rowlings revealing the release of new book
"Harry Potter and the Half-Blood" in July I thought of registering the name www.OnlyHarryPotter.com. Although I have no plans yet for this name

Please appraise the name. Thanks for everyone's time

Gracias

Of course there are...
But this sounds so simple and easy to remember? :)
Moreover it is self-explanatory too :)

I would imagine you'd run into problems if you trade commercially specifically off the Harry Potter character, yes. A fan site might squeak by, dunno. harrypotterrealm.com is around, for one.

Well, you made me confused now
I can understand if I register onlyphotoshop.com (product) or onlymicrosoft.com(company) or any such name being TM issues
But a character of a story??
Let me know what others think of this name

Thanks

Because the character of the story in this example IS the product.

I'm sure that the term "Harry Potter" has a trademark on it as well. All her book titles do. The only way to possibly get around it is to create an unofficial fan site and put disclaimers everywhere. Still they may come after you. Not worth it IMO.

You WILL have TM issues if you make any connection to the J.K.Rowling character, however...

And perhaps you've heard of MikeRoweSoft.com? Here was a guy that couldn't use this domain just because it "sounded" like Microsoft!

YEs thats right, if someone in the world its called harry poter you can use the domain but not relate it to the book harry potter.

For dgridley :)
If someone is called like this do you think he must put disclaimers on his ID CARD????? :tu:

Obviously, that's an entirely different situation.. just trying to keep people from having possible legal problems down the road. It pays to be informed, eh?

Thanks David
I will keep your suggestions in mind before I go on doing anything with the name.

Thanks
