I have always wondered what one of my better domains might be worth and would appreciate getting some feedback on this one:

onestopshop.net

I have noticed that onestopshop.com has been for sale for many years for $5 million, which I think is too much.

But any ideas on what the .net version is worth would be much appreciated.

probably not much value apart from the fact it is similar to onestopphoneshop dot com which is quite a big online phone website in th UK.

Not sure what onstopphoneshop has TM'd but it might be worth contacting them if there wouldnt be any issues. Although if interested they would prefer the dot com version of your name.

Thanks, evermore, for the feedback. This is my first request for an appraisal, so it's good to get a response.

I'm not sure this phone site could trademark the phrase "one stop shop" as it is a common phrase used extensively by many, many companies in many English speaking nations. Over the holidays I noticed almost 100 companies advertising themselves as your "one stop shop" for all sorts of things.

Which is why I think the name has more value than low XX. It's a common, generic phrase that would suit an online e-commerce perfectly. Because it is so generic, it has thousands of uses. And because it is a phrase so commonly used, it would bestow a lot of credibility.

I know the .com would be better. And it is currently for sale for $5 million, which is think is way too high. But I think it is a valuable name.

Anway, do others agree with the low XX assessment, or am I right to think that it worth more?

I'd appraise it at low $xx as well. I noticed that Daily Domainer appraised it much higher, but it seems to me that they over-appraise most domains. IMO, would need development.

Thanks, David, for weighing in! I've been hoping someone would.

It's funny, I was thinking the Daily Domainer had appraised it low.

It just goes to show how subjective it really is.

I just paid a professional appraiser some money to really research it. He came back with an 8 page report (real information, not some template he was filling in) with very thorough analysis based on a ton of research. He concluded that it's worth was $2,000+.

And I found after googling it that DNJournal reported it's sale at around $1,200 awhile back--that's not what I paid for it.

So the mystery continues.

I do agree that it needs development to unlock its potential. But I think it has potential.

i am not sure how much this one is worth, but in general i would say, .net extension would be atleast 10% of the cost of .com extension. definetly not less then 10% of .com value. check if .com is really worth 5million or not!
