Whilst I am not sure as to the credence of domain certification by these guys, I will gracefully accept the recognition. If anyone can attest the value of these I would appreciate it. Before you say it, I do realise that they want me to spend money advertising the name on their site. However, I have submitted a number of other pretty reasonable names, which failed their certification test.

Can I ask for your opinion as to the value of OlympicsTicket.com and what I should do with this name. Who should I approach to sell it. What should I do as far as development is concerned or PPC.

I have heard that the International Olympic Committee is very aggressive in going after anybody who uses the word "Olympics" to market products or services. Does anyone know whether this is also true of domain names?

I've heard the same thing, regging anything with the word/term " Olympic " in it is a big no-no, they will simply take it off you.

I know about the olympic commitee first hand!!!

I had a polite but firm letter from the UK solicitors telling me NOT to re reg the ones I had!!!! Or may face prosecution!!!!

At least I made the reg fee back and a bit more from it!!!

Sometimes you learn the hard way!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Of course, any commercial usage of 'olympics' is a trademark infringement, domain names included. Since Olympictickets is a blatant commercial usage I'd say your domain is worth 0. (or big bucks to your lawyers)

Yep, unfortunate but true. Messing with the Olympics is about as deadly as messing with Google. Both have deep, very deep pockets and are highly aggressive in protecting their assets.
