Just to find out if it was worth registring it.

Don't know what to do with it yet but perhaps i might develope it.

Actually, it could be interesting, for seeing as though you dont own the name, how can the Olympic committee sue you? And id just love to see Centralnic sued for something like this... Im sure they have some sort of disclaimer with you over their liabilities, but they dont have any contract with the Olympic committee..

If you register it you will not be alone in registering an "olympics" name. Someone with a yahoo email address has applied for olympics.eu claiming he has a National Registered Trademark.

"Claiming" being the key word in what you have said... it is an application, whether or not he does actually have a right to the domain name with a trademark or not will be judged by the company.

Thank you guys for your comments ,As i wasn't aware of trademark issues
when i registered it ,I saw it was available and i registered it.

So if they got in touch then they can have it ,They shouldn't make these names available if there is a trademark issues or companies should register all the TLDS with there marks.

So lets wait and see.

But i think its just bullyness.

I went for the meaning of the name ,Its the name of one of the GREEK GOD dwelling on olympus or person of superhuman ability or calm?

As i said lets wait and see.

Olympics Is and Has been a trademark of the IOC for years
They don't have to register any and all names with the word Olympic, they can and will however use every legal means to protect their trademarks.
Why it was available is because most people Realise the Futility of trying to register and Use the name.
