Hello,

I would like to know your opinion & thoughts about old "vintage" names.

I mean domain names registered more than 6 + years ago.

As I see now, sellers/buyers include domain name age (me too) as additional name value, or some times even the main reason of the price.

I searched for some info on this question and found out that old domains, plus registered not for one, but more years, have better Search Engine Ranking Position. So, older - better?

Well...Do you have any other ideas?

Thanks in advance,
Bravo

still mainly depends on the quality of domain name, then the amount of backlinks.

I think you're right in saying that age of the domain name in question does have a lot to do with its ranking, but also consider like mentioned above backlinks, page structure (proper code and headings), link anchor text etc.

Some buyers like to see the fact that some domains have age. Thus because of several reasons.

1: Traffic / Known - It gathers traffic because of its age and old backlinks.
2: Whois? - people might want to buy a product from a established business.. Purchasing vintage domains might hide this.
3. SEO - because of there content, search engines arnt afraid of them

the fact that someone keeps renewing a name indicate that at least one person thought the name has some value.
