Official NNNNN.com Countdown Thread

Spaceship Spaceship
Watch
I'm going to start this off. I just bought over 1,000 NNNNN.com's today, all were German postal codes. I am hoping to hold these as a long term investment and possibly develop or sell them down the road. I also have a portfolio of other NNNNN.com's that I am already making money on cash parking with. As it stands, there are less than 19,000 NNNNN.com's left, out of only 100,000 total (far less than the 450,000+ LLLL.com's which have already sold out). So most of the NNNNN.com's are gone, and all the 1NNNN.com's are gone and over 90% of the 2NNNN.com's are already gone. The NNNNN.com's are the next category of domain real estate on the net to go.

Why buy an NNNNN.com? A number of reasons:

1) You will get cash parking revenue even on totally random numbers. I have had very good cash parking success with my NNNNN.com's so far, some even consistently bring in large amounts >$2-5/day, and I haven't even figured out yet why so many people are typing in these numbers so I can set appropriate keywords to make even more.

2) Lucky numbers, very big in many cultures including China, where lucky number domains have been bought for $$$.

3) Numbers make words when spelled on cell phones, and this market has just started to take off (466453.com brings you to GOOGLE.COM):

4) Lots of foreign countries have 5 digit postal codes and this is a potential source for type-in traffic as well as development of related content,

5) US zip code NNNNN.com's are very valuable and the postal service keeps adding new ones, so a number that it not very important today could be a large zip code tomorrow.

6) A number is easy to remember and completely brandable, quite possibly more so than some of those bizarre LLLL.com's which are going for so much,

7) Numbers mean things, finances, product numbers, birthdays, prices, and so much more,

8) There is a very limited total supply of NNNNN.com domains, and the vast majority are already gone, so it is just a matter of time before they are all taken. All the NNNN.com domains are gone and are now valuable, don't miss out on NNNNN.com's!

Where to start with numeric domains?

Huge database of foreign postal codes, many NNNNN's available here

Phone Spell tool (type in a number and see what words it spells on a phone) here

Numbers in Chinese culture here

Guide to Numeric Domains here

Another good tool is google's adwords keywords tool, see the search volume for NNNNN's and whether advertisers are paying for them, here

Please post other resources for people hunting for NNNNN.com's.

Since this is a countdown thread, I better give some numbers. As of this morning, there were 19,346 NNNNN.com's available based on a scan of all NNNNN.com's (100,000 total). I have registered 1,032 since then. So to my knowledge there are 18,314 available now.

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
you get easily approved by the parking companies but it is hard to add url them to google it takes to many time and boring , at the moment which parking company do you use for your 1000 NNNNN.com ?

Thank you for running these lists. I started last night running specific sequences and had picked up the 125 and 124 repeaters. I also picked up a lot of the sequences that you listed today.

The more I run sequences using a spreadsheet and then running reports to see which combinations are available the more obvious it becomes that the best options are very scarce.

I picked up 250 NNNNN domains over the past 24 hours. Looks like many of them have some decent traffic. I'll post my traffic numbers in a few days after I get a better sense of the levels. I do not expect these to be money makers, but it would not take much of a conversion to cover a good portion of the registration fees.

Thanks for those

epasaport, thanks for the post!

I may have missed a few NNNNN.com's with 3-repeating characters, I am running bulk random searches not doing it methodically. But I don't think I've missed too many more (if any), though, because I have done a LOT of the random searches.

Here are some available (at the time of posting) XNXYY.com's

05044.COM

Does anyone have any recent sale price stats on NNNNN that are active US zip codes? Just curious ...

0
•••
Don't have actual stats

Just have read in various places that a good zip code will go for $x,xxx. There aren't very many sales because Marchex owns almost all of them. A zip code in a smaller population area is probably worth several hundred dollars.

More good news for numerics

Google news just announced a new feature where you type in your zip code and get local news content. This will likely make people more used to typing in zip codes to get information, and if applied to google in other countries as well, would be very good for holders of foreign postal code domain numbers. The uses of numerics are just beginning to be explored.

I just got 69428.com. It spells "my hat". It's not much, but it's something.

Could be lots of other things, like "My ICU" or "Ow, ICU!" for medical assistance. :)

Numerics are great.

There are many numbers available but not sure if it is worth any number. Besides of Zip code based on what you are choosing them?

There are a number of possible criteria. If you just care about traffic, NNNNN.com's generate traffic, even completely random numbers. You will get low levels of traffic even with "bad" numbers so you can basically pick any numbers you want. If you want numbers that look nice or are easy to remember, pick those with repeating numbers like have been posted above. If you want to cash in on the future boom in numeric domains that spell words, get numerics that spell things. If you want your domain to have potential resale value to someone in China, choose a number with lucky Chinese numbers in it. If you want a domain with very good traffic, find a number that is a foreign postal code in a large city, or a part number, or some other significant number. The possibilities are basically endless, so if you think of any other criteria that are good please share them!

Good luck!

I've been reading that some Zip Code domains have sold in the high hundreds-low thousands. Are there any links to these reported sales? (i.e. Sedo or DNF or wherever.) I have yet to come across any concrete sales data. Any help would be appreciated.

dotNetKing over at DNF says he sold some .net zip codes for low $xxx

NNNNN.com strategy

One strategy I have been working on is figuring out how to acquire NNNNN.com's that may be zip codes in good areas in the future. The postal service is constantly adding new zip codes, and they usually do this in high-growth areas. Does anyone know how they go about picking what the new numbers will be?

I'm regging them at GoDaddy, and using the code OYH3 to get them at 6.95 a piece.
