How about doing something with this white advertising space at the top of the page!?

It's been empty for too long! I think I'd rather see a banner up there than that white space! How about selling ad spacers for NP$ per day? I'm sure this will get some of the community involved... I have a rough NP$ scheme that might just work, if you want to hear it, let me know. :)

Perhaps we should try and add some more items to the store, and/or do a NP$ price check on the items... A bit of mix and match. :)

Also, I think a domain registar directory would be great. A directory similar to the apprasials script, where we can post pros and cons of a particular registar, and give our own opinions of it.

Hey Darren,

Banner space at the top is now available for 275 NP per day. If you have other suggestions on how to fill the space, please share.

Also, I think a domain registar directory would be great. A directory similar to the apprasials script, where we can post pros and cons of a particular registar, and give our own opinions of it.

That was my intent for the Reviews section. It needs some work still, but it is open for new reviews and companies to be added to it.

Hey RJ,

I added a couple of registrars for submission a few weeks ago and they haven't shown up yet - I put them in through the suggest a new vendor link but no shows for them both!!

I approved them. The review system is really awkward in this respect. First you have to suggest a vendor, then suggest a product for that vendor, both have to be approved before a review can be added.

Like now, NameCheap and RegisterFly are added, now a product ('domain registration' for instance) has to be added. The script integrates very well into vBulletin, its just this one aspect of the script holding it back imho.

Its too late at night for me to work that out RJ

How about when someone suggests a vendor, the mod that approves it automatically adds a product for it as well cos IMO most people won't bother with the hassle. Sorry to be so blunt - i agree its a nice system and I would happily sit and fill out loads of reviews for it however it needs to be a tad more user friendly than it is.

When I click on Namecheap or registerfly, I can't seem to find where to add the product I want to review and then when I click browse or whatever it was I just get an error message below:-

SELECT cenvendors.vendor_name FROM vendors WHERE vendor_id = 11 - Table 'dnsay_dnsay.vendors' doesn't exist

A couple of navigational suggestions:

Although I have not been particularly active in these areas, I nonetheless do, FT2T, have trouble navigating to the special Appraisals page. For instance, the on "Appraisals" link on bar acroos header sends me to a page where I can view names that have been appraised, but leave me at a dead end for putting my names up to be appraised (Unless there are links on pg that aren't working w/ my browser settings). At regular forum Appraisal category, no apparant link, either.

Also have trouble getting to (or seeing link to) NP$ to make NP$ pmts. (I tried saving the link to page in a PM to myself for future use, but link doesn't work when saving this way.) Easy path from MarketPlace->NP$-> bank, but either another dead end, or link doesn't standout. (Need to go there and see, again).

Might be helpful to newbs or occasional users to make these areas a little more user friendly, unless there's just a unique chemistry between me and this particular interface.

For you next project, a hosting directory would be good. You could gather up all the cheap and free host and people could submit their link (?)

my suggestion is to do with pms i often notice that when you pm some one they dont get a notification that theyve recieved a pm immediately , and the same is the case with recieving unless i dont refresh the page or click on some link i dont get the notification. anyway to sort this out because when you are negotiating this can be frustrating sometimes .

Btw you ppl are doing a great job by running this suggestion thread not just as a formality but you ppl really take the members suggestions and implement it , i am very proud to be a member here :great:

Hey Bill,

There are two notification options in the UserCP for private messages. One option will use a popup prompt that lets you know when a new message is in your box. The other will send you an email upon private messages.

Do these features fit what you're looking for, or are you more interested in seeing something show up on each page that lets a user see their PM status?

RJ

FT2T, have trouble navigating to the special Appraisals page.

I reread the sticky, found the link, and will now use that to get to the appraisl board. That's the best direct link and I had forgotten since the first time reading the post.

Some forums have, in addition to (# of) "Posts", a "Member Since" date w/ the members thumbnail profile (on left-side of posts)- there's gotta be a more concise way of describing this!

What I like about this, is that it quickly and conveniently, gives a more rounded/fuller picture of the member who is posting- the extremes being the individual who joined 1 month ago who has 200 posts, or the member who joined 2 years ago and has100 posts. Of course, there are exceptions, but generally speaking, who would you feel more comfortable transacting with?
