A few days ago I bought jav.cc and already received a couple of nice offers. Short .cc's are a good investment indeed.

I own the name example . cc for a while. The interesting thing is example.com example.net example.org and example.edu are reserved and not available to register.

I really credit Domain Shane for being so far ahead of the curve on lll.cc and even nnnn.cc domains. Allowed me to get a ton of them for almost nothing. I've sold most for 50-100x profit but have about 10 left. Will hold onto uav.cc (even though not chinese preferred letters) and digital.cc for bigger scores.

Hi all...
I too joined this with homeloan.cc
Nice buy! It was on my watchlist for a while (Flippa) but I passed on it. Instead I purchased Editor.cc from Go Daddy the "Buy Now" for $11 bucks. Over 300K searches monthly. Keywords .cc's like we have will see some play as well, hopefully in the near future!

Dont know if you guys saw in sales thread but viral.cc went for 1K so maybe english keyword.cc are going to pick up.

I think that they will. To me, .cc is a great extension. It's short and easy to type (especially on mobile).

I got me only one .cc

Television.cc

cc for Closed Captions (Subtitles). A perfect hack!

What say?

Jesus Christ. Here are some sales in 2006 (when I started in Domains):

1a.cc $ 85.00
4Y.CC $ 82.00
US.CC $ 1,623.00
F1.CC $ 400.00
2V.CC $ 78.00
7J.CC $ 70.00
3T.CC $ 43.00
1h.cc $ 41.00
1Z.CC $ 15.00
F8.CC $ 125.00
7w.cc $ 47.62
6V.CC $ 57.00
C4.CC $ 116.00
L3.CC $ 52.13
9C.CC $ 51.00
9A.CC $ 26.00
E8.CC $ 9.00

Yes E8.CC sold for $9.99 on ebay.

If I had kept all these names.... well can't dwell on the past -_-

I wonder if a fellow NP member has been smarter (from 2006):

I'm now contemplating to hold on to my LN.cc domains instead of selling them. Good idea or bad, that's the question...
I am in the same situation here. I'm debating whether or not to sell my handful of LN.cc and NL.cc.

I had offers in two of my LN.cc, one is for $160 and the other for $250. I end up rejecting both offers even though I could get some CC.cc for $100. I will give it another year and see what happen.

.CC is mainly competing with .COM and .CO

IMHO, .CC is superior in terms of time to type and length. Beats .CO because .CO loses traffic to muscle memory for people who are used to the dominance of .COM. I can;t tell you how many times, when typing a .CO domain, my brain/fingers automagically type the M to finish the .COM. I can't be the only one.

I actually have to remind myself "OK, EbookLover, this is a .CO, don't type ,COM, FFS!" lol

.CC = quicker to type and easy-peasy to remember. Great TLD, too bad it has gotten so unpopular.

@EbookLover, yes, google can not help here, actually, if u are not chinese or understand PinYin, I have no idea how you can find the meaning.

for non-chinese, u just keep in mind those chips can be valuable for chinese....but what combination is more valuable have to be analsis case by case..

btw, based on my own observation, .cc is not so popular in China now, not necessary to invest .cc base on Chinese needs....in China, most domainer only like .com and .cn(PinYin.com CHIP.com CHIP.cn NNNN.com NNNNN.com got most value and liquidty), some pioneer heavly invest on keywords ngtld, some player heavly invest on very short cctld...just my input fyi....

Has anyone sold a .cc domain for any real money? I only ever put .com on any keyword to see what comes up. Although I have tried .io recently :)

I have sold many .cc domains in the past. The sales has dropped in recent year but it's understandable. Most of the marketplaces now prefer to promoting the trending extensions instead of good old one.

As time goes, it's foreseeable that the current trending extensions .io .co will finally became an obsolescence extensions just like .cc and .tv did. But don't worry, you still make sales because every extensions have its believers.

I still have many good keyword .cc domains for sale, such as backup.cc, img.cc, coffee.cc, cake.cc cafe.cc, etc.

This is really just my personal take/theory on this subject: Keywords such as Poker,Cellphones,Ringtones,Sex, etc. are not included in this theory as they're selling with high values no matter the extension.

It depends on which continent you're looking/asking.
In the USA, where the .com craze is going strong and always will be going strong, not even the country's own extension .US is holding up in value, making a .cc a very difficult undertaking to evaluate.

In Europe on the other hand, where country extensions are strong (see: .uk,de, etc) the general openness towards extensions other than .com is increased. I've seen .cc used quite frequently in Germany and Austria. I'd assume that your end user potential is greater in Europe than in the U.S.

Again, this is just a theory and may very well be wrong. However, i do have a 2 LN.cc domains, hoping for the breakthrough of .CC one day :)

IB
Breathing.cc, how is it? Is it valuable.

Incredible! Where'd you get the drop info from?

I don't think it was dropped, just never been regged before.
There are many prime keywords open in dot-cc. I built a random word generator/checker for .cc and was surprised to see what is available. Please click the link below to browse what's available in .cc
