Just curious does anyone know what the hell is going on? 9 days to auction so why in the hell have they not finished the list and started their "Promotion" to earn the 15% of my sale price. Monikers auctions have turned into a joke recently way to many inferior names at the auctions and numbers being carried on the back of one decent sale. How do they expect to get a bunch of bidders if there is no list out other than a few of the live auction names?

I usually buy about 10-15k worth of names at the traffic auction plus spur bidding on others I dont win but I for one will not be buying in this one and I am emailing my account manager to let him know not to include any I have submitted to the auction in the auction. These names had to be submitted in october or november

Monikers attempt to corner the auction market has actually in my minds led to better auctions by SEDO (Though very poorly run) and snapnames etc. Moniker does not have the staff or time to run 2-3 auctions a month like they are trying to do

Just my 2 cents by the way

Updates ...

It'll be interesting to see what happens here, in many respects IMHO. :gl: :talk:

Participation by legitimate End users is one critical area that needs to be addressed ... that I am aware of, I don't think there are any successful, completed sales of domain name(s) at a Traffic event to an End user(s) that are now uniquely developed and actively being promoted & marketed ... that I can recall, anyway. :red: :imho:

Please post updates here in this space ... :talk:

I agree with the sentiment re: end users, IMO in order to attract end users they'd probably need to have more specific but smaller sub-auctions. For example, why would a huge chain of furniture stores send a rep if there are potentially few names in that area. It just looks like a conference for domainers the way its set up. But, if they marketed a room or time where "home goods" names would be featured, another where "electronics" names would be featured, another where green products would be...etc. That kind of format might work and attract a few.

When and until when is the silent auction? Also, I find it somewhat unprofessional that at least one of my domains (didn't check for all of them) is in the silent, yet I haven't been contacted about it. Surely this is destined for trouble? If I had sold off this name prior to the event and it sold at TRAFFIC then this would cause havoc.

Starts 3:30 PM Pacific time, Wednesday.

Hope the stock market behaves so we can get a clear reading on the state of the domain market.

The silent?

I would assume that is the live auction, it is the only date / time up on the Moniker front page.

There won't be much happening on the silent auction for a while after it opens, whenever that is.
