If you're down with his politics, perhaps you can work out some arrangement with a wealthy supporter of his, or donate it to his campaign.

A domain with a Shelf-Life. Most campaigners now recognize that their "NameForOffice" is almost always going to be regged before they have the oppertunity to. Everytime elections come around, some Domainer grabs a name and thinks hes done well for himself....

First... Politicians definetly prefer .com and .org to .net (.org fits the best) but additionally, when and if Obama becomes president - what next? You've really limited your domain name to one end-user and even still the domain has a temporary shelf life. An asking price of $200,000 wont warrant any serious consideration. (I think you might be fortunate to get a few hundred dollars).

I've tykesformike.com but I've developed it to tout my presidential choice and linked it to his campaign site as part of my civic duty, and in lui of making a monetary donation, since I'm pretty broke!

You might do the same with your site if you are for Obama. If not, then I'd try to find someone to sell it to fast. As everyone said, it's got a shelf life and the life stopwatch was, in essence, started today and is ticking down.
