Hi All,

I have been monitoring a domain registered with network solutions for a while now, and 1 day after domain expired, the expiration date was extended one year to 2006, for which I thought the owner extended the domain...

However, when I looked at the whois information today, I saw the following:

Registrar: NETWORK SOLUTIONS, LLC.
Whois Server: whois.networksolutions.com
Referral URL: http://www.networksolutions.com
Name Server: NS1.PENDINGRENEWALDELETION.COM
Name Server: NS2.PENDINGRENEWALDELETION.COM
Status: REGISTRAR-LOCK

What does this mean? Will this be available after a while? If so, why is the expiration year 2006? Any ideas?

im guessing someone else has been monitoring this domain aswell and has registered it before the original owner could.

Actually it looks like it has expired, but may still be renewed, hence "pending renewal, deletion". So if they don't renew after however many days NetSol gives them, then it will drop.

This name won't actually "drop" in the traditional sense, it'll end up at Snapnames and go into auction. I would suggest you put in a backorder at SN for the name.

If the domain is worth at least $60 to you, I would place a backorder at snapnames, if the owner does not renew, this is where the auction will take place. Unless nobody Backorders it at snapnames, then it will be released the old fashioned way.
