In 10 days, I'm leaving for a month long family vacation (with my family) touring Europe (and visiting my son in London). We've somewhat planned out our trip, but we have a week available to go somewhere (or multiple places) abroad.

The people on the trip are my wife and myself, my 22 year old son, my 15 year old son, my 24 year old daughter, and my 13 year old nephew.

Another thing to keep in consideration, is it can't be a place TOO expensive, and we're looking for somewhere that has a variety of different attractions, for the whole family.

With that in mind, what referrals/recommendations can you give me?

It can be any place in Europe. Feel free to post additional questions.

NP$ will be given if I feel you've given me a great deal of help. :)

Europe is a big place daddy, but I highly recommend Florence in Italy - I was there about a year ago on a short stay (1 night) - I found it to be one of the most beautiful places I have ever visited with plenty to do. I recommend flying to Milan from the UK (you can get these flights reasonably cheapish) staying a couple of nights in Milan, great shopping and plenty of sights then get the Eurostar train (don't get the normal trains, even first class is crap!!) direct to Florence. The train takes about 4 hours if I remember rightly but it takes you through the Tuscan hills that will be covered in lush vineyards (fantastic). Get a 'Rough Guide' to Florence book and go see all the sights. The food is exceptional (try the Florentine steak!). Florence is situated in the hills and has some of the nicest people. I could go on, I have travelled extensively around Europe, but Florence does come very high on my list. Other places to visit if you get the chance would be:

The lake district (England)
Isle of sky (Scotland)
Glasgow (Scotland)
Barcelona (Spain)
Vienna (Austria) - Fantastic Also
Prague (Czechoslovakia)
...

PM me if I can be of any more help.

Mike (No need to send NP$)

Blackpool Pleasure Beach/Alton Towers, probably expensive for the whole family - but it's fun! Might want to check out Pleasureland Southport, it's cheaper and there are still some ok rides. They all have websites to check out.

Go to Snowdonia in North Wales. Or, I would say that Berlin is a great place to go.
