This is not a spam post or anything of that nature. This is an honest search for assistance.

I have a site www.eclassit.com, and it is based around the classifieds community. I do not know if it is search engine friendly, keyworded properly, meta and stuff like that. I have searched the net and came across several webmaster tools and seo tools, things of that nature. I use the tools and get results, but it all seems so foreign to me.

I know there are seo companies out there that charge for what I need, but I was wondering if anyone had the time, if they could run my url on one of these tools and translate to me the results.

I am using a hosting company which lets me host unlimited sites and domains, but I do not know if my directories are in order. I also got feedback with one of the tools, saying I am missing a robot file. What is it? Do I need it? Is it missing?

What is the difference between...

http://eclassit.com/
http://www.eclassit.com

They both go to the same place, right?

Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!

A robots.txt file is not needed but you can use it to restrict search engines from accessing content. Basically you would put URL's of private data and stuff you wouldn't want to see in Google.

There is basically no difference, although I believe some search engines treat them as two different sites (www is viewed as a subdomain). Putting them into your browser should take you to the same place if you have configured them correctly.
