Not Doing Homework

How often do you not do homework?

I've had this assignment since about 2-3 weeks ago and it is due tomorrow. I just don't feel like working on it, and I can't get myself to do it.

I need to compare characters from a book to the movie of the book. We read the book a few months ago, so I don't remember any of it. I didn't really pay attention to the movie, so...

I don't even understand half of the assignment, anyways. We are supposed to create [a bunch of Venn diagrams, some reflection thing, and] a "one pager." My teacher did not explain what that was and his instructions are lacking.

You can tell how much I don't want to do this, because of this post...

I'm probably the worst procrastinator ever (worst meaning most skilled at it, negatively). I actually really messed myself up since I took a 0/100 on a test/assignment last quarter in English, and my grade went down to a 69.5, which *barely* rounded up to a C- on the report card. That kind of scared me into shape. :lol:

I really, really don't like homework, but sometimes I come to school a few minutes early to do it -- that's the only way I'll get it done. I don't allow myself to do homework at home unless it's a project I can't do at school. :hehe:

I know I'm not alone. This is just my first time doing this this year because I'm at some "super amazing high school." Basically everyone is literally a nerd/geek and tries as hard as they can to get straight A's. (Not me. ) I'm ranked 54th out of 350ish with getting all A's and one B for each of the first three quarters.

I've just been feeling like not doing anything lately.. a lot due to the above. My teachers think they are cool because they work at my school.

On my last history test, my teacher gave us an essay question "How did Siam confront imperialism?" There's one paragraph in the whole chapter about Siam. I had no idea what the answer was at the time and wrote about how they used elephants to step on the people coming in.

(Another question was "What happened in Egypt and Persia?"...)

I'll probably do a few of the Venn diagrams in my photography class tomorrow..

I understand how you feel, I dislike doing homework and always procrastinate. But I always force myself to do it by telling myself that I'll start a chain reaction of failing if I don't do it.

Heh. I just don't do math homework. Or history reading. Or bio reading. Definitely not one for doing the daily assignments... but in fairness: Math HW doesn't count. He doesn't check History reading. And I just cram in Bio. I can honestly say I would do just as well in Math / History as if I did do the hw, but I should be reading Bio more consistently.

I wouldn't mind being on that list. It might have been funnier if the teacher responded on my paper, but he obviously doesn't read it. (My writing looks extremely crappy because I had to go over it to make it dark enough to scan.)

I still haven't started the project that was due Monday.. I might get around to it sooner or later.

I never did my homework when I was at school. Up till my last 2 years I hardly studied at all and just had fun.

Then I concentrated in the final 2 years and ended up with awesome final year results.

My advice is be a slacker when you can. Work when you have to.

lol, well to give you an idea about years 7-9 at my school i was suspended 5 times (various reasons- behaviour, fighting, attitude), i got what could quite probably be a new record for the amount of demerits in one year and my reports had me grounded for substantial amount of times.

10-11, my behaviour etc improved dramatically because put frankly, i grew up. I don't get in trouble any more and i work a lot harder however i wish, and i still wish, that i worked harder before now. It's coming up to exams etc and I'm struggling because of the amount of work i just didn't do or stuff i missed out.

I know where you're coming from, but push yourself and it feels a lot better when it's done.

Year 7-9 are the most chilling years ever wish i could back to them. I was also not working hard till me GSCES came and then got my head down and got decent grades. A levels are really hard work from the word go you dont get a chance to mess around in them
