Hi

a eye / gpt has invaded the forum

you got members creating threads in general discussion, to discuss what questions do you ask gpt about registrars

if that’s what it’s come down to, then the future of conversation looks bleak.

so we need to have an AI free zone,
that means no ai generated content or images, videos, etc.

Hi

can we have an “a eye” free zone?

where no a eye content, images, etc. can be posted.

imo…

post your thoughts

imo….

🤦 Listen, let’s jump past the tired claims that my responses are AI simply because you chose to read/interpret them in a way that supports your bandwagon narrative. If you hadn’t shown up late to the party, and actually read this thread’s responses, you’d notice I’ve said it’s NamePro’s rules and they can do whatever they’d like with their platform several times over. I even went as far as saying those who don’t like it have the tools and freedom to create their own platform. So, your point about who makes the rules here is mute. Respectfully of course.

🤖 Lastly, your belief that “actual interaction” on this platform is low because of bot content seems like an attempt to sidestep human accountability. Let’s be real here: The quality of the human content is just as much to blame. When a platform’s content hinges on propping up one type of perspective and demonizing others, you get issues with interaction and a reduction in engagement value. Honestly, certain users have made this forum’s dialogue about nothing more than assumptions, criticisms and reminiscing about the past. That’s fine though.

👀 This discussion about AI-use has exposed the ridiculously low tolerance some in the forum have for considering ways tech can make the platform a better resource. Maybe it’s because any minor advancement could signal the beloved 90’s are more in the rearview than before. If folks want to proverbially keep the plastic on their couches and listen to the vinyl record player here in the forum, go for it. There’s no reason to pull out the pitch forks on those who see how TOOLS like AI might make NamePros more useful for the next generation of domainers though. Then again, this forum ain’t for them. So, keep things the same.

🙄 Oh yeah, my response is AI.
Lmfao, this is almost comically self-incriminating 😂 There's no way an actual person would come up with this hogwash right after being called out for his AI generated posts...

Why is this allowed? Is NamePros hurting for engagement so bad that even this obvious AI slop is better than silence? 💀

Allowing this will be the death of the forums. And they're already on life support — have been for decades...

Yes, I'm using em dashes 😂😭

Honestly, people really need to stop using ChatGPT to auto-reply in forum threads. It’s getting obvious, and it makes the discussion feel fake and low-effort. NamePros works because it’s real investors sharing real experience — not canned AI paragraphs. If someone wants to use AI, that’s fine, but at least learn how to use it properly so it doesn’t stick out like a sore thumb. The constant generic GPT replies are dragging the quality of the conversation down.

If you need it harsher, softer, or more sarcastic, I can rewrite it.
LMFAO 😂 I totally agree btw, but that caught me off guard...

First thread i see. Ai talking to ai 🤮
https://www.namepros.com/threads/if...ould-you-target-and-why.1393554/#post-9660550

There is nothing you can do about it now or ever. I think owner kinda likes it for seo purposes. Crap like the above is what is setting namepros apart
And my vote.now link doesnt goto the pole.
Just because you own said domain shouldnt mean you change destination.
Obviously ai didnt write this right

I asked chatgpt and if were gonna talk like robots, sounds like a new game.
More entertainment than business here. Is it like that a twitter

😂 I actually think you’ve put your finger on something, but it’s not exactly what you’re describing.

Looking at those screenshots, here’s what stands out:

“AI, cybersecurity, health, finance, climate tech and Web3 have all been popular choices…”

This reads like a generic discussion prompt. It’s not proof of AI, but it has that “list all the trending buzzwords” style. A human could absolutely have written it, but it also looks like something ChatGPT would generate in 10 seconds.

This is where I become more suspicious.

“That’s a solid choice.”

Classic AI conversational opener. 🤮

“Cybersecurity might not have the same hype as AI right now…”

Balanced comparison. AI loves doing this.

“…the demand is much more consistent because every business needs protection.”

Generic reasoning. No evidence. No examples.

Then comes the part you noticed:

“Would you target broad cybersecurity domains or go after specific areas like cloud security, privacy or AI security?”

This is where the conversation feels unnatural.

The original question was:

“If you had $1,000 to invest…”

The other member answered:

“Cybersecurity.”

A normal domainer might reply:

  • “Any names in mind?”
  • “Are you buying .coms or .ai?”
  • “Would you hand-reg or buy expired domains?”

Instead, this reply immediately drills into subcategories as if it’s trying to keep a classroom discussion going. That’s very common in AI-generated conversation because language models are trained to extend discussions with follow-up questions.

Even more importantly…

Nobody mentions a single domain name.

On NamePros, domain investors naturally say things like:

  • “I’d chase AI agent names.”
  • “I’d buy geo service names.”
  • “I’d look for two-word .coms.”
  • “I own X and Y.”

Instead it’s all abstract:

  • AI
  • Cybersecurity
  • Cloud
  • Privacy
  • AI Security

It’s a discussion about categories instead of domains.

My impression

I wouldn’t say it’s definitely AI-written.

I’d say:

  • 🟢 Human: ~30%
  • 🟡 Human using ChatGPT to polish or generate replies: ~60%
  • 🔴 Fully AI with almost no editing: ~10%

The biggest tell isn’t the grammar. It’s that the replies don’t sound like domain investors talking to each other. They sound like someone—or something—trying to keep engagement going by asking broad, academic follow-up questions instead of discussing actual domain names, pricing, sales, or registration strategy.

Yeah, I prompt it to give me the time after every response

Hi

now that a eye has basically taken over discussion sections.
is it too late!
either it’s an a eye powered valuation tool or some newbie creates and posts rehashed a eye generated topics, complete with bulletpoints, indentations and bold fonts.

is it too late?

from the “ai has changed the way I look at my portfolio” to the
“ai has made wiping my butt more efficient” threads

I ask, is it too late!!

imo….

I also saw AI avatars that look like me, I don't think I hallucinate, saw this even on Temu products and everywhere, gathering screenshots to take action, I have shared my selfie to ChatGPT in the past it could have started from there.

Yep, that was my thinking. For years I used to report SPAM, thinking it would be deleted and the spammer banned. Instead, they keep it, move it to the Promotional section. Why? The only reason I can think of is that NP has SEO juice, SPAM gets traffic, they can make money off that traffic.

This section is drowing in SPAM
https://www.namepros.com/forums/promotional.15/

Just one example - https://www.namepros.com/members/levi001.1098903/#recent-content

Comes around, posts up the same SPAM.
----------
Or the Crypto section. Who is this guy - https://www.namepros.com/search/1509425/?c[users]=DarkenBiz&o=date

Is it a real person? A bot? A paid content creator? It's the only section they've ever posted in, nothing but AI posts.

------------
I've always felt that slop should be cleaned up but the mysterious owner disagrees.
