NNNNN.com domains

Spaceship Spaceship
Watch
Hi all. I was wondering if anyone has thoughts about how many NNNNN.com domains are left. I did a few bulk searches on godaddy.com for these, and it looks like, based on averages, that about 85% of NNNNN.com domains have been taken, which means there are about 15,000 left out of a total of 100,000. Does anyone know at what rate these are being registered, or how one could find out? Also, do you think values for these domains will spike if and when they are all registered, as did the LLLL.com domains? I was thinking they might even be more valuable than LLLL.com domains, since there are only 100,000 total numeric possibilities for NNNNN.com domains and there are about 450,000 for LLLL.com domains. It also looks like numerical domains are much higher search terms than I would have thought, just looking at google ad words. It seems people type these in a lot, does that mean type-in traffic associated with these domains? Would people recommend investment in NNNNN.com domains as a decent strategy for someone new to the business? Thanks!

I have one NNNNN.com ,it is a zip code and gets minimal traffic.
I just renewed it for one more year.

I dont really find much value for NNNNN unless it is a very good zip code and I dont really think these domains will be all registered like the LLLL :)

Vatsan:

Thanks for your reply. Why do you think the NNNN.com domains have sold well, but the NNNNN.com domains will not, when there are much fewer of the latter than the LLLL.com domains that have sold well, even for the non-premium letters?

Any thoughts on whether foreign zip code NNNNN.com domains (for countries that have 5-digit postal/zip codes like the US) would be worth anything? Or would it have to be NNNNN + the correct country extension.

Well man all the US ZIP codes have been registered already and I am sure so would be the same with countries like canada an stuff. For the other ccTLDs, I am not very sure. There have been a few NNNNN sales for low $xxxx but these domains are ones with repetitive numbers.

You may also want to look at the mobile keypad for good names. Like 42637 for games or 66542 for nokia

Thanks!

Thanks to all the helpful responses on this thread. I am using the list of all NNNNN numbers to search to see exactly how many NNNNN.com's are still available. I just finished 00001.com to 09999.com and there were 3,014 that had not been registered, which is much higher than the averages I was getting when I was searching randomly. Presumably domains that start with 0 are not as attractive, since no real numbers start with 0.

Just checked the 1NNNN.com domains. This is nothing like the 0NNNN.com domains. Just checked all the possible 1NNNN.com domains. They were virtually all taken. There are only 3 that were available:

14573
14763
18673

Why are 1NNNN.com domains so popular?

i feel they are a great investment !! many phonepad numeric word domains are already gone ....... example 739.com = sex.com , phones may soon become numeric domain friendly because it is quicker , that's why it's hard to find key words that can be spelt on a phone touchpad , also numbers are universal ....... someone in another country who may not speak english recognize the number 2 on their phone , you get an idea on all this type of stuff at 4636.net (info.net) i have 4636.info (info.info)

the numerics are fast disappearing ...... jump on board , even if just with one

i currently have 37467.com in the auction section (cheap)

spells eshop.com on a phone touch pad ..... enjoy your numbers !!!!

Thanks for the tip

evirtual1:

That is a very interesting point about cell phone spellings, I will try to look up some popular spellings. Do you have any idea why the 1NNNN.com's have disappeared?

just because number 1 starts most things ........ 123 and so on , easy to remember

2NNNN.com domains

There are 930 of these left out of a possible 10,000. So that means 90.7% of the 2NNNN.com's taken.

2NNNN.com's

I used the list of all NNNNN.com domains posted above and cut and pasted 500 at a time to paste into GoDaddy's bulk search function. I cut and pasted the results into Excel to make tallying them easy. Actually didn't take that long, probably about 20-25 minutes, I hope to do the rest of the NNNNN.com's over the next week.

Anyone know how to convert traffic for cash parking with NNNNN.com's. I have one that gets 50-100 hits a day, for the life of me I have no idea why it has so many hits, they are all non-U.S. I make about $3 a day on it, but how can I increase this amount with better keywords? I have no idea why people keep coming to this site, any ideas for good high-value keywords that might work here and get clicks? I don't want to reveal the site because I am still trying to figure out why it is doing so well so I can buy similar ones. Thanks!
