I'd take the name of a sport (ie tennis, basketball, football etc) over ball.tv any day.

Now as far as the drop of today goes - Care.TV - that is a SWEET domain. I'm a big fan of wildlife and conservation/awareness work so this was almost a must-have domain for me.

Unfortunately we're way to busy as it is with development so we had to weigh our current projects up against this one. In the end we chose not to backorder Care.TV. Splashing out $1200 for a domain that just sits parked ain't worth it.

I was hoping whoever grabbed it (looks like it's a dutch guy) would put the domain to good use. So far it's parked at sedo though

I agree Three D, I see the name as marginal at best. Vito has Softball.tv which is a real sport for a better price IMO.

If ball.tv is executed right could be a excellent basketball site.

Thanks for the heads up Jason, we already have a vey suitable domain as it is. That's another reason why we skipped Care.TV (in addition to the current workload hehe)

I think you're right about ball.tv. A basketball site could be a good solution, but trying to compete with NBA.com and ihoops.com is kind of like taking on Microsoft or google.

Yes, I would prefer footbal.tv also, but probably you wont get chance to buy it for $800.

Ball is great generic term, brandable for anything sports related, and fits with extension. I am not saying its worth millions, but I am sure whoever backordered it will make some ROI.
