domain NewYork dot vc

I would appreciate appraisals on the above name. The .vc could be branded as "Venture Capital" & there are a lot of those companies in New York.

I've had this name for 6 years already. All ccTLDs are taken for "NewYork" & has been for many years.

Honest comments & appraisals greatly appreciated.

It's hard to say, .vc of course isn't a popular extension.

NewYork.cc sold for $999 in 2006
NewYork.ch sold for $5258 in 2010
NewYork.me sold for $6200 in 2012

No state/city/country domains have sold in the .vc extension that have been listed on DnSalePrice or NameBio except Macau.vc which sold for $300 in 2008.

I'd say your domain has potential to fetch mid $xxx, perhaps more to the right buyer.

In .vc it's going to be a tough sell.
You said you've owned the name for 6 years, I bet you never received an unsolicited offer.
.vc is priced at $40 year at Idotz, so you are already at $200 in renewal fees.
It's clearly not a popular extension so I'm not very optimistic.

By the way, Macau.vc is now available.

I actually had a $500 offer for this name a few years ago, but I turned it down as I was a bit greedy & wanted closed to $5k for it then lol.

I initially really liked the name because all ccTLDs were taken, a number of NewYork.ccTLD sales in the $x,xxx range & .vc for branding of Venture Capital.

Thanks for all the comments, I was thinking it would be worth around that price range anyway.
